@MommaC, yes unfortunately kids do testify in courts all over the world but the judge has to 1st evaluate and listen to the child, as well as consider the child's demeanor and manner of testifying and a child who appear incapable of receiving just impressions of the facts respecting which they are examined, or of relating them truly, may not be considered competent to testify.
Most first world countries use video link for the testimony. The child is in a 'safe room' and gives her account to a social worker whilst having a trusted adult with her/him. Can it really be so hard to do the same here? A full grown adult finds a court room intimidating, it must be completely nightmarish for a little one Report Abuse
