A LIMPOPO man was sentenced to 18 years in prison for raping a 74-year-old woman and robbing her.

Mantaboge Makanatleng, 23, from Mphanama in Sekhukhune was found guilty of raping the pensioner and robbing her of R3810 in cash in November last year. He was sentenced in the Sekhukhune Magistrate's Court.

He told the court he was drinking with his friends on the day of the incident and they left him at a liquor store. He said he lost his way since he was new to the village and ended up at the woman's house.

Limpopo police commissioner Lieutenant General Simon Mpembe yesterday applauded the sentence.

Our poor justice system again, and the muthaf#kca is only going to serve half the sentence and then go for a 94 old granny last what happened fews ago... Rapists and murders should get life (25 years)y at a minimum, period... REAL MEN DON'T RAPE!!!
