@Machefa i totally agree with you regarding RDP's being next to bond houses and there is this back room style 90% of RDP residents have rooms and on top of that we dont have a proper police station and cosmo city is huge even a community clinic nogal. whoever designed Cosmo city didnt think about the security for ppl cause is the first thing u should have had in mind and we paying bonds but its just a mess they thought it was cool to have mixture of RDP,Goverment Subside bonds and cosmopolitan bonds but i dont think soo.

i do not agree with you , i moved in cosmo city in 2007 . the place was nice and quite , the RDP houses were there already and we didnt have much crime . the problem started when residents start building back rooms and hiring them to mostly foreigners and in the bonded houses the problem startd when owners started letting their houses to foreigners as well especially nigerians.if you go to ext 5 that place is already a drug den and now what they doing they targeting the spaza shops to ply their trade.once again cosmo city used to be quite and nice, i remember when i moved in it took me almost a month to install buglar gates on my doors and windows and our street lights took almost 3 months to work as the construction was still continuing , it was very dark at night but we didnt have much crime.

the problem is that there are too many foreigners who are now staying in cosmo city who does not understand the life we live in the township . we used to do patrols and community meetings but then since we had many houses being occupied by the tenants no one is participating anymore . we used to go to each and every house and collect each other for patrolling but the problem was when you go to a house of a foreginer they would agree by then but when the time comes to patroll its only the locals. when it comes to greetings its only the locals that would respond when you greet and the foreigners will only look at you and pass.One other problem is that the residents who hire the back rooms they do not monitor the tenants to see how many people are staying there , the foreigners has a tendency of coming to hire a room as one but after 3 weeks theres an additional 4 people staying with him/her.
