A 42-YEAR-OLD man appeared in court in connection with the rape of a teenager he met on Mxit in Port Elizabeth, police said.
Lieutenant-Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the man appeared in court on Wednesday.
"The man remains in police custody and will be back in court on October 1."
He allegedly raped the teenager after meeting her on the social networking site Mxit.
"The girl alleges that she met the man on Mxit before a meeting was arranged."
Naidu said the girl and the man met at a garage in Forest Hill in June before they drove to the man's house in Dispatch, where he allegedly raped her.

You have to wonder if this is the result of being too protective over kids. It is never fun to explain to kids that the big bad wolf is not confined to the story books but we have make them aware that monsters are out there.Report Abuse

Are we giving our kids too much freedom with these cellphone or we are too trusting? What happened to not talking to strangers? Ayi khona!Report Abuse
