THE husband of a Limpopo woman accused of defrauding a farmer and car dealership yesterday tried desperately to secure bail for his wife.
Themba Mkhathini, common-law husband of former National Freedom Party provincial chairwoman Mulalo Mokoena, told the Polokwane Magistrate's Court that his wife was diabetic and was also suffering from a rash.
Mkhathini, 47, was testifying during the bail application of his 51-year-old wife, who was arrested for defrauding a farmer, whom she had allegedly promised a loan of R3.8-million.
I nvestigating officer Sergeant Patricia Mokonyama said there were several other cases against Mokoena, including that she had more than one ID book and that she did not have a fixed home address. - frankm@sowetan.co.za

It seems more and more corrupt politicians are climbing on the illness bandwagon to avoid jail time. If Shaik and Selebi can do it, so can everyone else.Report Abuse
