Suspected of raping 10 women
Found with cellphones, watches and car remotes
A man accused of raping more than 10 women on the East Rand appeared in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, Gauteng police said.
The 30-year-old man would remain in custody until his next court appearance on Friday, Lt-Col Lungelo Dlamini said.
The matter was postponed for further investigation.
He was arrested on Monday after police linked him to the rape of several women in Tembisa, Ivory Park, Olievenhoutbosch and Olifantsfontein.
He was also charged with the possession of suspected stolen goods when police found he had cellphones, watches and vehicle remote controls in his possession. He could not explain where they came from.
