Now this answer our suspicious about Bara, people dont come out alive at Bara, they die there and the hospital does nothing to contact the family members, until you visit them and you find the bed empty, My dad passed on monday, but we oly got to know on Tuesday during visit time, what were they waiting for, to sell him to their people? Bara stinks Report Abuse

This is very simple to resolve; just enact a LAW that will redirect funeral expenses to both the seller and buyer since they informally volunteered; do the same to these vampires from the Towing industry.
Just sentence them to a long term free funeral service for the family and friends of the deceased until the lineage is depleted. If you do that, you’ll never report on this again because they’ll close shop.
If you make the LAW ambiguous, you open it to discussions. This is very easy to apply and will also assist the community of Soweto into receiving free funeral services.
They've been doing this for a long time. My uncle passed away in 2006 and Bara didn't even bother to call us instead an undertaker came and told us Friday morning that my uncle passed away. After they left another 3 undertakers came and we were pissed off cause my uncle had a burial society which works hand in hand with their own undertaker. Report Abuse

This has nothing to do with the ANC, because it has been there even during the old regime, morgues used to have agents who were sitting near the morgue doors for any coming deadbody. Before the security guy as they were the ones sent to report the death to the family the agents would be the first to tell the family asking them if they have any insurance for the deceased. So, this DA guy must not make this as something that is only happening in this regime. Those who reported this incident are sour because the business competition is very high. Report Abuse

Papage- We had our differences in the past, but let me take this opportunity to pass my and my family's condolences during this difficult time in coming to terms with your loss. Time is a healer.
I have to say SA has surpassed itself this time, first they were selling second hand coffins and now they are selling carcasses?? Wow!! I thought I heard and seen it all. I am embarrassed to be South African at this juncture Report Abuse

same as private clinics such as Lesedi Clinic which happens to be next to Bara,my dad went for a spinal operation last year in october, he was sent to stepdown rehabilitation at Clayton House in Yeoville before de operation was healed, he was sent back wehre he was slowly loosing weight, we took him home on the 25th December for holidays, wen we send him back on the 2nd of January he was far better than at de hospital, he even told us dat we shud just give him 2-3 weeks den he will be totally healed and cumin home, guess wat we lost him on the 6th January 2012, and de Dr report says he had Kidney Failure, Heart Attack and Respiratory sumthing(mediacl terms), de day he passed away my brother had to go call de doctor from his Consulting room to have a look at my dad becos the nurses just stood there and said there is nothing they can do, but wait for the doctor,
