It is great that the media are reporting these stories about Limpopo but i am starting to think that there is some coordinated effort by the media to program and condition South Africans to hate and discriminate against Limpopo and Limpopo people just like they have done with foreigners especially Nigerians and Zimbabweans.
I may be wrong or over reacting but if what i am saying is true that then the South African media are playing a dangerous game which may eventually lead to massive violence within the republic of South Africa. The media needs to be more sensitive to the reactions and perceptions of their patrons in order to balance their reporting and ensure that their reports and exposes do not lead to the loss of human life.
I still blame the media for the 2008 xenophobic attacks even though they were never blamed or prosecuted for their involvement. Their reporting over the past decade has been collectively aimed at that making South Africans develop a negative perception and massive hatred of foreigners. Unfortunately most South Africans do not realize this and still let the media influence their emotions ,beliefs and perceptions unrestricted. Report Abuse

Well done to the investigating team. The corruption in traffic departments throughout the country is common place and rampant. I have personal experience of this, and I am sure most people do. We have thousands of drivers on our roads who bought their licences, and who don't know their wing mirror from their elbow. The carnage on our roads attests to this. Let us hope this greedy thief is properly processed by our sad and broken judicial system (unlike selebi, shaik, mutata, yengeni, .....) and that he actually does do time in jail. Democracy brought to you by the ANC allows you to criticize, but not blindly. This fellow was not "deployed" by the ANC but was INHERITED, in the same vein that the ANC inherited Richard Mdluli from the apartheid regime. The ANC inherited a very corrupt civil service in 1994. Please revisit Mandela's speeches, he spoke against corruption in the service as soon as he took office. The entire human race is very corrupt in nature. My correction is in no way denying that some deployees have been found to be corrupt, but we must also understand that corruption knows no bounds and cannot be confined to the ANC, it is a societal problem.
The only major difference between the then regime and the democtratically elected goverment is the level of accountability and transparency. In those days, there was no freedom for the media and no laws that compelled the state to disclose information even if such information related to corruption. The levels of accountability and transparency have improved with the dawn of democracy and the creation of instruments such as the AG, SIU,PSC,SCOPA, Public Protector et all. These institutions are helping in the advance and defense of the democratic order. Many in our public service are from the old order and still habour tendencies taught to them by the apartheid masters, unfortunately for them, times have changed and they are getting caught, unlike in the past wherein they got away with murder.
@Tempypusher
I agree with you, the fellow torched part of his double storey house and two cars, an maroon Audi A4 and a white BMW 540i to cash on insurence since he was no longer receiving tjotjo after being suspended. Besides fraud and corruption, he also has more than 20 children with more than 20 different women, though married to one. The 2001/2002 case did not just disappear into thin air, witnesses "evaporated". Most of the witnesses died "mysteriously" and I am shocked that the court released him on bail again knowing that he has this "magic touch" with witnesses. His recent arrest is also covering alleged crimes from that period. The fellow is as cunning as a fox, he literaly swallowed wards of cash when caught in a police sting taking a "bribe" in 2001. In short, he ate the evidence! Report Abuse
