Our biggest problem for women is that the people that are in the justice department and police are majority men.
They protect each other and they think that women are exaggerating when they run to the police to lay charges. Most of the police do not care and most simply tell the woman to go back home and be the wife that she should be and know her place.
Such men continue to abuse as they know that the police will do nothing or they will be out on bail. It is so sad that courts have failed this mother and her child will grow up without a mother.
Men need to learn to seek help, seriously.

This is very sad and not so long ago the Police minster spoke about the social workers availabe to help the police. Where are social workers then? Just when the wife asked for protection order that is where his employer should have done the assesment and counselling right there. All this thing written in papers but could not be implemented is driving this country to doom. What do women need to do to run away from this kind of life style? What is that minister of women and children do? please can somebody explain to be what is the purpose of that department? When it was introduced I thought Help and change is here now but NO! She only appear on August during Women 's month.

There can never be any justification for murder, if she cheats on you or does something that shows she is self-centred then walk away. Only a brainelss coward would think killing both himself and the wife / g-friend is a solution. It gets even worse when there are kids involved and they have to grow up without parents and knowing it was their coward of a father who bailed out of life and left them to fend for themselves.

When you do something like this it tends to have life-long consequences for those you leave behind.

While not condoning abuse many women in abusive relationships stay there until tragedy strikes. I don't understand how someone asks for a protection order against an abusive spouce and then go sleep in the same house as him. Surely if your life is in danger the logical thing to do is to get as far away from your abuser as possible.

The father should have taken her daughter out of an abusive situation, as much as the law failed her her family also failed to protect her.

Eish, this is so sad to be happening in Women's month.. What happened here is a tragedy indeed. However, i work at a governement (law) institution and i have seen this happen so many times. I am not defending the culprit here, but our police officers are overworked and underpaid and many of them do not seek the necessary counselling to deal with their issues. not to condone what you said but sometimes women victimise men up to a point of no return look at this a man was working as a police man and was married to this woman the woman got pregnant by another policeman and i don't know what happen between them afterwards but the woman went to the court for papgeld and everyday this woman's lover would taunt the husband that he is taking care of his family while he is just sitting there useless until the guy had enough of that and shot him and the neighbour hid the wife from the husband and the husband was arrested now tell me who is the cause of all that?
