So that is the reason why the TRT (Amaberet) are using their fists, in place of rubber bullets

Why should the police even attend protests?
Mobs can get out of control, burn, break and intimidate others but the police cannot respond in kind or with reasonable force?
Let mob rule take over, let anarchy thrive - let the criminals rule.
Oh sorry, they already do!!!!

lol.
The rubber bullet company is going to record a loss for this financial year for the 1st time in years. They made a killing in 2010 with the matches/protests that happened then.

@He said when one looked at the current legislation, somehow police were expected to solve even matters that were beyond their control.

"You have a case of domestic violence or spousal violence, wherein a husband abuses a wife.

"Have we addressed the issue holistically by arresting the abuser? We do not think so.

"In most cases police do not have the capability to sort out relationship problems."

What a joke! They are number one in those cases. The next thing they become buddy buddies with the lady and want get into her panties. Mxccm!! They also respond quick if the father can spank the child

Sad, wasting a precious and scarce natural resource such as water on a bunch of thugs. Lead to replace rubber, would be my take on things.

Water is so needed in this country and every other country. Why waste it on people that clearly do not want to think logically?
I suggest live ammunition when protesters start destroying property and you will be amazed at how the streets will clear in an instant.

I often here that the so-called "red berets" are abusive towards the community to a point of being misleadingly revered, eg "bayashaya, abadlali!". Just a deeper analysis of who is actually "moered" in the rainbow nation spectrum will reveal wonders....

We've got stupid laws. This stupid Mthethwa thinks we are stupid and insane just like him. He is saying this in sacrificing the police who were arrested for Tatane's murder. How the hell do you expect the police to deal with violent crowds. The strikers are so unruly.

This Mthethwa is the same old Mthethwa who objected to the deployment of soldiers in Cape Flats while people are being killed. Do we have to have the Sharpville murders in CT?

How ANCYL plans to shut down Cape
http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-courts/how-ancyl-plans-to-shut-down-cape-1.1357173

Coincidence much?????

So can the police also throw stones back at protestors?

I will let them borrow my paintball gun, it is loaded with a mix off pepper, dye and solid nylon (Hard plastic) balls. Good acuracy and guarenteed to take down any target.

The brave ANCYL

Golden Arrow bus was stoned in Khayelitsha on Friday.

The driver lost control of the during the attack, and it crashed through a road barrier and ploughed into shacks, killing the driver and injuring five people, including a child.

The ANCYL had threatened to prevent "any and all Golden Arrow buses and taxis from operating".

The death penalty has been abolished, yet the police sees fit to use live ammunition on protestors! What cowards! Or perhaps our police minister is more focussed on abiding his time in office while the pay is good, and to hell with the rest.
Our minister of police is doing our police force more harm than good by not recruiting more police recruits. Like the traffic officers, these law enforcement officers are seldom seen performing their duties in public apart from speed-trapping and motor accidents. I don't suppose they are aware of the value of patrols to ensure the law is not being broken and by the very nature of being seen, prevent crime. One could easily be mistaken to think there are as many police as there are fire brigades.
