A man has been arrested for dismantling a suspected stolen car in Soweto, Gauteng police said on Friday.

Police responded to the area after receiving information that two people were removing parts from the car, said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.

One suspect was shot in the foot by police after he tried to attack them with an axe.

"His accomplice managed to run away, police are searching for him," said Makhubela.

The injured 25-year-old was taken to hospital under police guard.

He is due to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court soon.

Moegoe. You can probably bribe your way out of dismantling a car but the cops take it a bit personally when you try to dismantle their bodies.

I doubt if he was really willing to attack the policeman. The policemen like to take low in their hands and make up statements to convict the accused. .

Come one bra, how can you pepper spray some one weaving an Axe, lets be logical about this. The cop probably fired a warning shot and the fool did not listen. So shot in the leg is not fatal, it should teach him a lesson!
