Zuma's allies are actually entrenching factionalism in the ANC. If one's position is going to depend on whether one supports Jacob Zuma or not, that is very tragic indeed. If they are also going to get rid of Magdaline Moonsamy and Steven Ngubeni, what is going to happen to institutional memory, since the new guys seem to be wet behind the ears and still have to learn the ropes? Or could it be that the NYDA is just a source of resources to help fight factional battles in the ANC. The one thing that is commendable about this board is that there has been some effort (though not enough)to include people from other parties. As for Andile Lungisa, Magdaline Moonsamy and Steven Ngubeni, if this is about politics, they have all the time now to campaign for their preferred leadership in the runup to Mangaung.

Because the three are said to have taken a principled stand not to support Jacob Zuma in Mangaung, one will not be surprised to hear that a forensic audit is being launched to investigate NYDA activities. That is exactly how Zuma factionalists operate. In my opinion, Mpumalanga and Freistata are the worst provinces when it comes to corruption and tender-rigging but only Limpopo is targeted because it does not support the incumbent.

Why is such an agency composed of politicians and not qualified youth who would be given performance contracts to deliver on a specific mandate over a period of 5 years. Good ridance. The NYDA is supposed to be a none political organisation. It will never work as long as comrades are pulled from the ANCYL to run it. First of all most of them are not qualified in for those positions they are just there to satisfy the deployment need of the ANC as an organisation and to have control over the "empowering" structures. I am an ANC supporter but when it comes to things that are supposed to take forward as a country, i do not support the comrade deployment idea.

Winnie Madikizela (Malema's mentor) is strongly opposed to the recycling of leadership. I guess as a matter of principle she will be delighted now that the old NYDA guard is being rooted out. Unless if her statement was just representing the ANC faction that wants Zuma and Mantashe out.

Lungisa was becoming too big for his shoes. The NYDA cannot afford to have people who import ANCYL tendencies to the agency. He had to be removed. Good judgement and move by the selection committee.
