Blame it on the African legal system taken over by roman Dutch law, if what they call kangaroo courts still existed, non of this monsters could still be found in our communities. All would be rapists, murderes, and lazy bones not wanting to work for a living could have been 7feet under ground NOW Report Abuse
it was either the police were still looking for him ( while the community found him) or they were still investigating the other charges ( and because of that the other 19 yr old was put in harms way)
my take with regards to kangaroo courts is that though they are not the best option we have very few other options. our police system does not work, our justice system also does not work and in a few cases where they do the president will grant them amnesty or we will be told the jails are full therefore they wil be parolled and come back and terorise us some more. in this case this guy is dead no chance of him bothering us again. It frustrates me that our police wait until someone has about 50 cases to answer for before they get them off the streets. Then the challenge is to prevent them from 'escaping' or the docket getting 'lost'. No wonder communities get desperate enough to take matters into their own hands. If that had been my daughter, I'd have been first in line to throw stones Report Abuse

Now the justice cluster has been saved a great deal of expenditure.
LoL@lidodaduvha11
They sure must have counted the number of stones that were found in the vicinity. We are a democratic nation that lives vy the motto: one attacker, one stone. They turned all the stones and found 150 sets of finger prints. The whole saga adds a new meaning to the phrase: "Lethabile rocks." Report Abuse

Yeah
this how it should be done. No wasting of tax payers money and time by going around in circles with dockets going missing and all sorts of nonsence our justice system does so well to delay.

Poetic People's Justice. Let it prevail. Since growing up in Soweto (White City Jabavu), everyone always knew who the criminal was, so there never was a case of mistaken identity. Lets have street committees and People's Courts all over the land, and watch crime rate deteriorate Report Abuse

Yeah saps are useless criminals are roaming the streets in South Africa and stealing for the law abiding citizens, when you report a case to police station, you are just waisting your time ,cause nothing would come out of it. Even when there are finger prints for criminals , policemen they dont know how to do DNA test, I wish we can all in our comunities take law to our own hands, we are sick and tired of these useless bugers. There is so called izinyoka breaking houses everyday, their syndicate is a mixture of drug dealers and foreigners living on our streets, they are loose canons and policemen are failing to protect to comunities, but now enough is enough, we will take the war to these thugs very fiercefully. It is not right to take the law in your own hands but I will say this, I do not blame the community to take the law in their own hands because the police sometimes they also think that they are the law. At 1 stage they stole my brother- in -law's music centre and he reported the matter but before they do anything after 4 days he discovered who stole the system and recover it without any fight. He went to the police station to report that and he was asked WHAT MUST WE DO NOW YOU'VE GOT YOUR MUSI CETRE. They never even ask WHERE, WHEN, HOW? Report Abuse
