When will people understand that marriage is primarily between two people, a man is buried by his wife and a wife by her husband, as the family you may dislike your child's spouse but it does not take away that person's rights in terms of the law and before God. The bible says a man will leave his family and cleave to his wife so really now usile lo mama nabantwana bakhe ubangisa umakoti ipaycheck. The late's kids will be stripped of everything that their father had saved for them. Some people just do not know when to leave people's things alone. @ Chichi7 - How do you know none of them contributed anything? In today's day and age spouses should insure each other and take out funeral policies on their own and each other's lives. For all we know this dead man might have been an out of work leech who depended on his wife for absoultely everything, and on the other hand he could have been a proper head of the home who took care of all his family's (wife and children) needs. Money is the problem, this thing happened to my younger sister. Her husband died and the in laws decided to take her out the house and share. Mother in was taking a house and brother in law was taking cars. The even used the deceased credit card 8 days after burial because the took it from my sister in the pretext that they are going to pay it. My sister was trusting them too much she thought they are helping her. At the end of month she was suprised to receive a statement from ABSA with the balance of R40 000 while husband left the card with the debt of R13 000. She opened a case and they were arrested. The hatred became worse.
They even went to the deceased' work to try and get the money but because she was in possession of Marriage Certificate she won everything and she came out of that house and she got her husband's money and she went back home where she built her own house.
The house they were fighting for is in the hands of the lawyers and it is going to be sold and the money will be shared amongst his children. Report Abuse
