Sisters kill ex-lover
Man stoned to death by siblings after he violated a restraining order not to see their elder sister
TWO sisters appeared in court yesterday for allegedly stoning to death an ex-boyfriend of the elder sister.
The Limpopo siblings were arrested on Tuesday after the attack on Monday.
The case against Mokgadi Matjipa, 37, and her sister Anna Matjipa, 25, was postponed to July 30 for further police investigations.
The two are accused of killing Peter Kgwedi from Riba Cross village in Driekop on Monday afternoon.
Kgwedi, 44, had visited his ex-girlfriend Mokgadi in defiance of a protection order.
Police spokesman Elias Setati said an argument ensued between the couple, in the presence of Anna.
"Preliminary investigations have revealed that the women picked up stones and started throwing them at Kgwedi, hitting him until he died," Setati said.
Setati said the paramedics who were called certified Kgwedi dead on the scene.
He said the authorities were disturbed by the behaviour of both the parties.
Setati said the restraining order prevented Kgwedi from visiting his former girlfriend.
He said Mokgadi had applied for the protection order because Kgwedi used to assault her regularly.
"Kgwedi violated the order and visited the woman, which resulted in the unfortunate incident," Setati said.
The sisters will remain in police custody until their next court appearance on Monday.

Well done, girls. Mokgadi le Anna Matjipa, I am expecting to see you walking down the street as free agents sooner than later. The troglodyte violated a protection order and was punished for it. The justice cluster has been saved so much money. It is sad that he did not leave to see the long-term consequences of the punishment. At 44 the man was no longer supposed to be a boyfriend but instead he should have been a father and husband. Boys will be boys. Let us check the score: Girls 2-0 Boys.Report Abuse

Y the sisters remain in police custody baffles the mind because they are not a threat to society or that they lives may be in danger if they are released. The ex-boyfriend violated the protection order and therefore the law cannot be on his side as he showed total disregard for the same law. If the sisters did not act the way they did the man would have killed them.Report Abuse
