Sarkodie set to rock Big Brother finale
THE 2012 Black Entertainment Television Best International Act recipient for Africa, Sarkodie, according to reports, will be rocking the Big Brother Africa StarGame reality show on August 5.
Sarkodie will be the second Ghanaian to perform at this year's show after hip hop artist M.anifest thrilled Africa last month.
Best known as Ghana's Artist of the Year for 2012, Sarkodie will be performing on the finale night of the 91-day reality show when the winner of the show's seventh season would be announced.
Sarkodie, the King of the Azonto singing and dancing styles, will be performing on Africa's most-watched reality television show at a time that the Azonto craze is also dominating the show.
The Azonto dance has been championed by Ghana's representatives on the show this year, with basically all the housemates having a go at the popular dance craze.
Ghana was represented by comedian Derick Kobina Boney (DKB), musician Mildred, known on stage as Eazzy, and Keitta, model and brother of hiplife grandpapa Reggie Rockstone.
DKB and Eazzy have been evicted from the show, with the country's hopes now resting on Keitta, who has set a record by being Ghana's best-performing housemate to date, even though he is currently up for eviction on Sunday.
A source close to the organisers said they were still in negotiations with the artist and could not confirm if he would be able to perform on the finale night since he would be arriving in Ghana next Monday from his North America tour.
