I know of many guys who became police officers because their mothers wanted to take them out of gambling, drugs....but how. Sleeping with or bribing the officials responsible for recruitment. how can we expect good officers.Report Abuse

Firefly: Most school leavers end up on the scapheap. My plan is: all 12 to 16 year olds should be put on national service (not necessarily army stuff). Then 18 year olds, who dont go to tertiary of university education should be put on the National Guard (homeland security, borders, etc). Street Committees should be formed and local people deal with crime, whislt the training still takes place. dont tell me there are no resources, because if we confiscate all what the politicians and civil servants have squandered so far, we can pay for that training without interfering with tax-payers moneyReport Abuse

The SAPS is facing the same problem of moral decay which is rife in all communities. Remember that SAPS members are not recruited from another planet but from the very same society which is morally rotten. People who are already criminals happen to be recruited because they do not have previous convictions. They then get a perfect platform to carry on where they ended. This is the reality of our situation. In most bluelight gangs there is always a policeman involved.Report Abuse
