@Dzel
Our president mara, on IOL he is quoted as saying:

“If you take Jackson (Mthembu), he did not violate the ANC rules, he violated what you call public kind of rule, and the law enforcement dealt with that issue,” said Zuma.

“Why should the ANC punish him again because that was dealt with in terms of the laws of the country?” he asked.

This would be funny if it weren't so sad. So someone commits a criminal act - drunken driving - and given the position he occupies and the institution he works for Zuma sees no reason to discipline him for his violat(ion) of public kind of rule.

I am stumped, how does one respond to this level of reasoning and this guy is our president. Really scary indeed, is this the best the ANC has to offer?

Did he said that ?

Mr Zuma, it should be clear to you that the majority of people think you are not a good president, even if for different reasons. If you bow out gracefully, many of your mistakes will be forgiven, and if you are prepared to retire on a normal presidents pension, with which you must look after your wives and children yourself, you will even be remembered with some fondness for your charm and humour in future.

Please give Mothlanthe a chance - he is the one who can uniterthe counrty again, behind good and solid morals.

I'm personally happy with South Africa and I like ANC. We come a long way and this freedom of expression we are exercise right now is one of the fruits of those who went to prisoned/killed for us to be where we are. Our democracy is very young yet we have achieved a lot. People will criticize and yes, criticising the government is part of health democracy and me come 2014 I will happily vote for ANC because they are on right track. I'm not expecting them to change things over night. Question is: Are we the happy nation or not? Me, I'm happy that the new AU chairperson is from South Africa and that shows that we can produce good leaders. Me, I'm happy that we successfully hosted 2010 FIFA World Cup, 1995 IRB Rugby World Cup, 1996 AFCON Nations Cup, Cricket World Cup...COP 17...people we have achieved alot with this ANC Government and lot of good things are coming. I'm proud to be a South Africa. It's not easy to run a country, ask the likes of Tony Blair, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush....Goerge Bush....they will tell you. I respect all our former (post 1994) presidents and will keep on respecting them....I LOVE SOUTH AFRICA....I LOVE ANC....VIVA MSHOLOZI.....VIVA KGALEMA

The noble thing that he should do is to resign and change leadership elective style of the ruling party. The resolution to pave a way to let the people in a form of an Act of Parliament to take center stage as far as the election of all Political Heads are concerned should be taken as a matter of urgency. We cannot tolerate a system of Government were the minority of 500 ANC friend related Cadres will decide for about 50 million South Africans who are most of them far much better educated than the likes of Nathi Mthetwa and Beki Cele to elect a leader who has all the capabilities of being a leader. We are tired of leaders like Yenkeni, Mathale, Mabuza, Nyanda, Molewa, Block and Winnie, if the majority of South Africans can take over to elect leaders who can lead them not leave their faith to a political party which in turn elect their corrupt friends to lead us this country will be too far by now. I say let us let the majority to elect leaders not the minority branches of ANC who form 3% of South African population what about the other 97% we need to be represented as well as Comrades has dismally failed for the past 18 years to do exactly just that! We need a revolution, in which a system of politics currently sidelining lots of people should change if we need to take ANC forward, everybody should be afforded an opportunity to lead by affording the General Public a leverage to elect their own preferred leaders regardless of a political affiliation or connections right on the spot and political leaders should be recalled if they manage rubbish in our departments the public should as well decide on that. We are tired of being led by illiterates who does not have a clue what they are doing in the name of comradeship!

The President was supposed to respond to the issue of his polygamous lifestyle as it impact negatively on the tax payers. People in authority should make sure that they follow the constitution. The ministerial handbook should be implemented accordingly. I don't think it talks about the first "ladies", I think it only talk about the first lady.

The benefits of Politicians should also be reduced as there is a big gap between them and the people on the ground. That's why now everyone is fighting to go up there. They have extra benefits on top of their salaries wich are already huge.

You have a very short and selective memory. You forget that Jacob Zuma was Mbeki's deputy president but never accepted responsibility for anything. Motlanthe on the other hand has been running the HIV/Aids national campaign and has been very successful. Ask Dr Aaron Motsoaledi. I just do not think it is right to cling desperately to a semi-literate leader with hardly a Standard 2 when the ANC and the country are awash with many people of integrity and skills as well as expertise. Jacob Zuma is a leader in the mode of Patrick Mphephu, but in some ways Mphephu was even better than Zuma. As for Cyril Ramaphosa, I used to hold him in high esteem until he was used by the Zuma faction to settle political scores and stifle debate. Ramaphosa does have a good standing in the public but definitely not within the ANC. If Ramaphosa accepts to be on the Zuma slate, he is definitely going to discredit and assign himself to permanent political oblivion. Cyril appears to be smart but he definitely does not have the smarts for ANC politics.

You are not a leader just because you are literate or illiterate, Zuma was apointed by Mbeki to be his deputy literate leaders were there, Mandela tasked Zuma to initiate negotiations literate leaders were there but doing what

Enough of this hypocrisy! Jacob Zuma headed the National Aids Campaign for seven years before he was fired by Mbeki. And today you cannot tell me one good thing that he did in that role. Well, I remember that later on he announced in public that he had unprotected intercourse with the HIV-positive daughter of his erstwhile struggle comrade and had a shower aftwards to reduce the risk of HIV infection. That is Zuma's contribution to the HIV/Aids campaign.

Yes, you are not a leader because you are literate or illiterate. There are many leadership roles in society and even government but the least we expect of our presidents is literacy. Jacob Zuma can help with negotiations and all types of engagements after mnagung but pleeeeeeeeeeeezzzz!!! Take him out of the presidency if you really love this country. Jacob Zuma was Mbeki's deputy president (was given a chance) but failed to rise to the occassion.

As concerning Motlanthe you are plain wrong. Motlanthe is a man of principle and is on the side of the truth as far as the Malema issue is concerned. Motlanthe is definitely not in Mathale or Malema's pocket and has absolutely nothing to do with whatver is happening in Limpopo. Motlanthe is one leader who rises above the factions in the ANC. He is the right man to unite the ANC and build it into a formidable organisation. As for Cyril, I am not impressed. Cyril's record is very much public and only those who look at him from a distance think he is something. Unfortunately the Cyril that some of us know is just a bag of hot air! No wonder he can be be carried away by winds of factionalism.

@Progresive
Yes was put in tight spot cos Mbeki believed in garlic n beetroot policy, pls rememba Zuma deputy on Mbeki's personal choice so he had to adhere to Mbekis stance or leave the govenment if he disagreed, bt once he got he clearly stated that aids policy will change doesnt matter who willlead he must adhere to his new policy hence Motlante, u doin very good in ataacking his personal life but you forget one he was elected having passed those things
Education is not only in the form of western doctrination and brainwash, what do you mean by Zuma failing in Mbeki s term
I used think like that with Montlante but he has actualy proven me wrong,what is it that is surppoting in Julius, the guy is not politician but a gangster who is bent down yo destroy this country,Malema is such an alien to the anc and all what it stands for,but just because he want Moylante to be pres so he sutporys juju,do you call that principled
The problem is people who want motlante to lead are the one who are causing mayhem in lompopo,they are using him as a pawn to gainnacces to the whole and lay it waiste,that we cant afoord
What record are you refering to,yes it is in public he is one of the best in the curent anc generation,he is not in any faction he simply applied the rules of the anc as they did apply to Chris hani, Peter mokaba and Bantu holomisa and julis is by mo means an exception

all i see in the man face is corruption, maladministration, embezzlement, poor leadership, inadequate education but best in woman satisfaction. Mr president you need to know the difference between royalty and presidency seat. if you can work on that no one will accuse you of those scandals you did..sorry but thats truth.

Yes your mshini has tried the best : MAJORITY up to 4 and MINORITY up to 22. There's no one like you. So just retire and go and start to learn the ages and names of your creche because surely I don't think right now you can on of the above. Give yourself break so that you will have eternal life because most of people who worked hard when their retire they die because they are not used to.
