A man has handed himself over following a murder at the Meadowlands hostel in Soweto.
The 25-year-old surrendered this week following the stabbing death of a 30-year-old man on July 8, Constable Sibusiso Chauke said.
The argument broke out between two men when the victim tried to intervene during a maskandi (Zulu traditional music) event in the hostel.
“The suspect [said he] left the hall and came back with the knife and stabbed the man.”
Chauke said it was not clear what the argument was about.
The man would appear in the Protea Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
