@Maditaba,while I concur with you when you say Xolani Mbath "did not commit the crime on behalf of all black men" I have to remind you that most rapes in SA are committed by black males,yes,there are morally sane black males, and, we cannot use the excuse that black people are a majority in SA,so naturally they will commit these heinous crimes against their own.They do so,because they want to. they must chop off their dicks, all these guys who r convicted of rape....i dont that the governments rehabilitation programme in prison is doing enough to change these guys...our prison facilties are a haven for criminals because they get all the privileges....change is what we need... Who said only black people rape? Just visit any court and find out how many white people are prosecuted for rape. Just that, in most cases black people cases are written about in these newspapers. It is same like the fact that, because we have never heard anything about it, there is no crime, corruption or problems in USA or England. They don't show their washing outside like it happens with blacks and most of newspapers (white-owned with black journalists) prevent it from happening by sending journalist in black people areas for black people news. We need to teach our kids to speak out as soon as an adult starts acting shadily. Teach your kids never to accept money or gifts in return for favours and definitely raise alarm as soon as an adult asks them to keep a secret or threatens them with violence.
The MO is always the same, kids should be empowered to spot a potential abuser miles away and to raise alarm before anything happens.
