A 32-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a child, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
Xolani Mbatha was sentenced by the Ulundi Regional Court, for raping an eight-year-old girl repeatedly between July 2010 and March 2011, Colonel Jay Naicker said.
Mbatha was arrested in June 2011.
He gave the girl one rand each time he raped her.
“Xolani threatened to harm the victim if she reported the violations, but the victim later did the right thing and reported the rape.”

@Maditaba,while I concur with you when you say Xolani Mbath "did not commit the crime on behalf of all black men" I have to remind you that most rapes in SA are committed by black males,yes,there are morally sane black males, and, we cannot use the excuse that black people are a majority in SA,so naturally they will commit these heinous crimes against their own.They do so,because they want to.Report Abuse
