Delivering a baby is part of his training and there is nothing new about it and moreover that procedure happens even when he is not there, so, what difference does it make? That MEC should have donated his salary or do something that the nation will remember him for, not just stand next to the perinium of a teenager and say I have made a difference.
To talk about a patient's confidential information is breaching confidentiality, did Sowetan and that MEC get the permission to talk about the patient's personal information? did they get the permission to take a photo of that baby? That is why sowetan did not publish my first comment because it is about breach of confidentiality.

I am embarrassed in the morning you read a paper you see a doctor saying to the whole nation I have delivered a baby, you know some of the things that happen just leave a sour taste, look at former state president of America he went to Qunu and look at what difference he has made, or he should have cooked pap and vleis.

"We have since hired about 500 doctors and nurses. The biggest problem in our hospitals is the attitude of nurses and doctors. Health workers need to care for patients, despite the pressure and stress (they face everyday)," Mkansi said.
*******************************************************************************************
How can they not stress when they dont have surgical gloves, antibacterial soap, faulty equipment, no medication, dry taps, et al

Mr MEC imagine this scenario:
1. your government issued car is not working
2. your bodygruard are not available
3. your credit is declined (insufficeint funds)
4. laptop not working
5. 3g card or internet f upped

Wont you be grumpy and stressed................

Doctors and nurses are human beings they can have stress especially if conditions are detriorating and it is embarrassing to their profession, they are dealing with life and it is totally different when you are dealing with machines.

If in this country we can have such bodies and teams as INFECTION CONTROL nationally a lot of hospitals can fail and can be reduced to a level of clinics. Look at that picture that MEC should be wearing scrubs and all the protective covering if he was delivering the baby
