why is it that in the SADC countries Mzansi has the most cases of rape?
answer is simple. if you commit rape in any of our neighboring countries, the consequences are very dire. you go to prison for at least 15 years no negotiations. no parol. no appeal. no human rights in prisons.

I stand to be corrected but at some stage in the late 90s poverty was blamed as a contributing factor to violent crime against women. You don't have to go far look at Botswana, violent crime rate is very low because their justice system is very efficient. the more violent the crime, the worse the punishment.
Mozambique has a very low rape and violent crime stat. Most people in that country are poor. the only diff is that if you are found guilty or rape you are locked up for a very long time with HARD LABOUR. no two ways about it.
