Another pupil raped

Jul 18, 2012 | Sapa | 48 comments

A grade 10 pupil was raped on her way to school in Endlangubo near Eshowe, the KwaZulu-Natal education department said.

It is such a shame that we continue to deal with such indecent sexual assaults committed by adults against children, especially girl children

"The teenager was travelling to school with another pupil when she was accosted by a knife-wielding man on Tuesday morning," spokeswoman Muntu Lukhozi said.

The man forced the 19-year-old into the bushes and raped her. The other girl managed to escape.

The teenager managed to walk to school after the attack and reported it to the principal.

"The girl was taken to Eshowe hospital for a medical examination," Lukhozi said.

Provincial education MEC Senzo Mchunu said he was shocked.

"It is such a shame that we continue to deal with such indecent sexual assaults committed by adults against children, especially girl children.

"It is really sad that while we preach to our learners the need to preserve themselves and take pride in their bodies and lives, adults continue to do the exact opposite," Mchunu said.

An eight-year-old girl from Mvutshini area in Gingindlovu was raped in April. A teenager dragged the girl into a sugarcane field near her home, where she was assaulted and raped.

The girl's left eye was gouged out of its socket and she was left bleeding profusely from both eyes. She had been walking home from school at the time. Her attacker bit her in the neck.

She was treated at Ngwelezane Hospital.

The boy's grandmother called the police when people accused him of the crime. The boy had allegedly attacked another girl at school earlier.

He faces a charge of rape and two of attempted murder.

CheeseBoy

why is it that in the SADC countries Mzansi has the most cases of rape?

answer is simple. if you commit rape in any of our neighboring countries, the consequences are very dire. you go to prison for at least 15 years no negotiations. no parol. no appeal. no human rights in prisons.

our govt has just about made sure murderers and rapists are rewarded for the terror they inflict on women. IN short our ANC led govt condones rape and violence against women by not passing stiff laws.

@CheeseBoy,I concur with you sir,I think the justice system in our country protects the perpetrators, rather than the victims.Rape has become rampant in SA and punitive measures need to be implemented,in order to deal with this scourge decisevely.

I wIsh the picture was depicting a man having his phalllus cut ...............

Jerr this is too much......... I think caring Saffers should take the government to court for its lax attitude on crime (more especially child abuse and rape). Education used Section 27, we can have a Section2... for crime .............

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH............. CASTRATE THIS GOOD FOR NOTHING FUKCWITS.........

If these people can not control their dangling body parts, then castrate. simple and problem solved. Once that start happening, let us see just how many more men will take a chance at raping rather than having a relationship.
