I DO understand that our STRUGGLE heroes went to their countries in EXILE during apartheid, but our heroes never went in millions. They went in couple of hundreds and thousand. Now, these guys come here in millions and millions. There is an estimate of +/- 2 million Zimbabweans illegally living in SA.
As much as our struggle heroes received help and assistant in apartheid days, this does not mean we owe foreigners free accommodation in SA. These youngsters from KZN should stop selling SA out. So much for the 'Africa for Africans' argument.
The problem is not the 'refugees' that come in - it is the calibre of the average that come in. If a guy has crawled under a fence, has no documents and no ties then his ONLY chance of survival is crime. Likewise, the influx of crime syndicate members who seem to get a freee pass from our police. Unfortunately, all the migrants then get painted with the same smelly brush.

There is no need for these KZN youth to go to Swaziland, already there is a strong bond between KZN and Swaziland, which is so strong such that Zulu Kings take wives from Swaziland, e.g Zwelithini’s third wife and her 2nd latest wife are from Swaziland. ......African politicians live in sublime luxury and leave theri problems to the average person in the streets!!!!
Thabo Mkeki created the Zimbabwian problem and he lives in luxury earning billions while 3 million foreigners live on our streets and build Mjondolo's.......it's ok if these people were skilled and added to the 5 million taxpayers who are already burdened by carrying the other 45 million net consumers of our tax revenue.
When the MDC won the last elections in Zimbabwe, Thabo Mbeki single handedly undermined the results!!!! Now we sit with the problem!!!
I say all illegal immigrants must be deported and all illegal settlements in urban areas destroyed. If I move to a city and can't find suitable accommodation, bad luck. I can't go to Harare and just make a Mjondolo!!!! I'll get sent back to Mzansi sharp sharp!!!! These Shona's won't give me land for mahala!!!
Hamba Khaya nina and sort out your own problems!!!!
I hope you don't believe that the attacks are spurred by Zulus that would be an unfair way of looking at it. The attacks have happened in other provinces i.e. Limpopo, Free State, Mpumalanga, Cape Town and there are few zulus in those provinces. Xenophobic violence was exec*uted mostly by the ord*inary p*oor man on the street with the help of a couple of tsot*sis and the un-employed who for those sad and m*ad days found something entertaining to do and a scape-go*at for their worries and fai*lures in life... especially in poor areas with poor service delivery like A*lex, Hi*llbrow, and Die*psloot, R*eiger Park. The more learned ones like majority of my work colleagues, and neighbours - they were actually ash*amed by what their fellow SA-ns were doing (except for 1 or two foo*ls I work with who stopped talking to me those days). We as a nation need to conform to ceraitn values and we need to be consistent on how we project ourselves to the African community and to the world....much like things were under Madiba. ......African politicians live in sublime luxury and leave theri problems to the average person in the streets!!!!Thabo Mkeki created the Zimbabwian problem and he lives in luxury earning billions while 3 million foreigners live on our streets and build Mjondolo's.......it's ok if these people were skilled and added to the 5 million taxpayers who are already burdened by carrying the other 45 million net consumers of our tax revenue.
We need to speak

I hope you don't believe that the attacks are spurred by Zulus that would be an unfair way of looking at it. The attacks have happened in other provinces i.e. Limpopo, Free State, Mpumalanga, Cape Town and there are few zulus in those provinces. And I was made to feel the same way when I was in Limpopo, discriminated against cause I was Zulu. Overall tribalism/ xenophobia its just obtuse!Report Abuse

So it's not a matter of getting the anti-xeno*phobia message out there, but its of targeting the right areas and the right people.Report Abuse

Sowetan editor, please do something about your classified and censored words....give us a list or something so that we know. Because as it stands, half the Oxford dictionery, you have it under censorship. So much for media freedom and freedom of speech. Nxa!Report Abuse

even in our townships we have yards. the reason behind these yards is to maitain order. imgine a situation whereby your neighbour will just encroach in your yard, and sell drugs and displaying pornography cd's. will this be ok with you. i am an african.i love africa. we need a holistic approach in solving african problems. every african state should be a better place to live in. during apartheid era freedom fighters went to neighbouring countries with a mission. a mission to prepare for a good fight of freeing south africa from apartheid government. mission accomplished.Report Abuse

South Africans are not xenophobic, it's territorial battles for basic needs. Refugees are not in camps, they are everywhere to fend for themselves while the gov fails to deliver to it's citizens.Report Abuse

What hurts me is how most of you dont realise that we are related one way or the other. Most Xhosa people dont even realise that their language has a lot of similar shona words. I can see them thinking i am lying but its true. Do some investigation. Even shona and vhenda and Sotho as well. I feel sorry for my people who have to go to this country. Zimbabwe is now a better place and urge them all too come back. We got US dollars man. SA is nothing. Come get a piee of land and u will be a millionaire in noo time. Stop working for other people. Let this lot bring down their ownn country. its true SA people dont own anything in their country. They still have a fight to own land and a means of production. Saying that my wife is Xhosa and going to my in laws scares me already. You never know with this violent lot.Report Abuse

tyzer...We're not indebted to the rest of Africa because of the fight against Apartheid. In fact most of those who lived in African States and who are now our leaders are amassing huge amounts of wealth and are now our oppressors!!!!
We as a nation need to conform to ceraitn values and we need to be consistent on how we project ourselves to the African community and to the world....much like things were under Madiba. Here on our border we have a dictator who has been in power for 32 years, lost the last 3 elections, beats his opposition and subjects into submission while the rest flee to Mzansi in terror...and we say nothing. Yes our ANC regime says nothing but rather let's these people compete for our already limited resources and jobs!!!!
I spend a lot of time in Switzerland these days but I need a Shengen visa which I need to get personally from the Swiss Embassy in PTA. My UK business visa cost R4 500. No visa and you're on the next plane back to Mzansi. But no here in Mzansi people walk accross the border and build a mjondolo and we accept it!!! Already most of our youth are unemployed!!!

...rules and rules and for order to prevail we need to respect each other as Africans as well as the cultures and laws of all other States....some of our African brothers are taking advantage of our hospitality and the ineptitute of this ANC regime of ours!!!

these youngsters from kzn are showing the 'big for nothing' motor mouth xenophobes on this site that whether you are zim, 9ja, ghanaian, swazi or whatever the artificial boundaries created by the colonisers wanted us africans to be known, we are all africans first and foremost. ngutha, i think you are one of those south africans who live in one of the shacks in alex and pride yourself as a south african citing the beautiful infrastructures in places like joburg and cape town. well let me tell you that those structures where put in place by the whites and if you want to judge your standard, look at where the millions of blacks are living in alex and other townships. you don't find such shacks in other african countries so wake up and join the rest of africans to fight our common problem-CORRUPTION. black govt in SA has only succeded in creating a black corrupt elite group in the country and this is where the problem is in africa.Report Abuse
