Boy, I'm glad you survived that horrible treatment. I initiated in 2000 but never experienced that(Limpopo). But one thing most people or bloggers dont know is that, initiation schools are done by people who are Sangoma's or Witch expects. So for you not completing the programme is a great risk for your mental capacity although i fully understand the reasons behind not completing. Be warned that, your mental health may be damaged due to not completing. Those people are real witch who can make your life miserable. If it was in Limpopo, i was betting on my mother's grave that your mind was going to be disturbed, but in FSS i doubt because even young boys can be the god fathers of the school. Report Abuse

What really scared me was to see those guys who were told not sit by the fire,but sat facing it from the front...I was surprised to see their balls grow bigger...I still could'nt find out whether they felt pain or how they got to their normal size...
Getting inside the river at 03:00 in the morning and sitting insikde that cold water is really horrible...
Singing at 12:00 midnight is really disturbing and can brainwash someone's mind...
Running after an impala,buck or rabbit while unstitched can really cause pain to one's member...

@Xhosa 100, true dat brother. @DjEp, most of thetime it’s done in December when the parents are on leave and believe me your sister cooks for you and your younger brother will take the food to the bush and your older brothers or cousins if you do not have brother willl be there 24/7 to sleep with you every night and your dad is there almost the whole day. I took my son to hospital for circumcision. I went through the traditional process and felt it's not worth it for my son to go through it the same way I did. Traditional manhood process is no longer relevant at this day and age. Viva professional male circumcision viva. Report Abuse

Boy, I'm glad you survived that horrible treatment. I initiated in 2000 but never experienced that(Limpopo). But one thing most people or bloggers dont know is that, initiation schools are done by people who are Sangoma's or Witch expects. So for you not completing the programme is a great risk for your mental capacity although i fully understand the reasons behind not completing. Be warned that, your mental health may be damaged due to not completing. Those people are real witch who can make your life miserable. If it was in Limpopo, i was betting on my mother's grave that your mind was going to be disturbed, but in FSS i doubt because even young boys can be the god fathers of the school.Report Abuse

What really scared me was to see those guys who were told not sit by the fire,but sat facing it from the front...I was surprised to see their balls grow bigger...I still could'nt find out whether they felt pain or how they got to their normal size...Getting inside the river at 03:00 in the morning and sitting insikde that cold water is really horrible...
Singing at 12:00 midnight is really disturbing and can brainwash someone's mind...
Running after an impala,buck or rabbit while unstitched can really cause pain to one's member...
Forcing someone to wake up in the middle of the night and sing out loud is really cruel and abusive...

Hi AllI just registered on this site just because of this topic it really a touching issue. I'm Xhosa man and I also went to mountain. The only really reason that caused death in the mountain is that initiation has been commercialised. Why people send their children to initation schools where other people will look after their children? Where I come from we never experience death in the mountain because our own parents look after their own children they know what is happening to their children. The is no initatian school where people get money for looking after other people children.

this comment of yours is not based on facts but superstitions, there is not a single person in the world who has died or gone mad for not doing circumcision initiation, your line of thinking is a direct reason witchdoctors or whatever else they call themselves use opportunity to exploit ppl like you.

Boy, I'm glad you survived that horrible treatment. I initiated in 2000 but never experienced that(Limpopo). But one thing most people or bloggers dont know is that, initiation schools are done by people who are Sangoma's or Witch expects. So for you not completing the programme is a great risk for your mental capacity although i fully understand the reasons behind not completing

this comment of yours is not based on facts but superstitions, there is not a single person in the world who has died or gone mad for not doing circumcision initiation, your line of thinking is a direct reason witchdoctors or whatever else they call themselves use opportunity to exploit ppl like you.

@Xhosa 100, true dat brother. @DjEp, most of thetime it’s done in December when the parents are on leave and believe me your sister cooks for you and your younger brother will take the food to the bush and your older brothers or cousins if you do not have brother willl be there 24/7 to sleep with you every night and your dad is there almost the whole day. I took my son to hospital for circumcision. I went through the traditional process and felt it's not worth it for my son to go through it the same way I did. Traditional manhood process is no longer relevant at this day and age. Viva professional male circumcision viva.Report Abuse
