ONE of the challenges facing South Africa is "ignorance" among both the young and old, Rivonia trialist and ANC stalwart Ahmed Kathrada says.

MGEEZ

These were the leaders who had courage and were selfless because when they fought there were no tenders to benefit from and being a Cde was not a romance!!! I salute all of them jointly and severally for what they stood for and the sacrifice they made. One only wishes that indeed our society was more involved in understanding the obligations that comes with the rights that are enshrined in the constitution.

I cannot wait for the day when all these "struggle stalwarts" find their way to heaven (or hell) if it does exist.

A lot of the entitlement and self enrichment is done by them due to the fact they 'freed us from the evil apartheid regime' so we owe them something.

We must worship them even if they turn against us. This attitude has been the death of Africa's progress as a people

I still say, Zuma was a mistake. The ANC has better Leaders and they all sit back and watching comics. It is sad to see such a Country go down to Zuma and Malema.

So what do you suggest we do with all the greedy bustards who fought to enrich themselves/friends and families, you say they must be sent packing right? How soon can that be?

"We didn't fight for people to get rich."

Actually we did; we did not fight to remain poor. If the statement was "We did not fight to get rich THROUGH CORRUPTION" I'd agree.

ignorancy is as evil as wi*chcraft. we are now a desperate nation and becoming dangerous to ourselves. our public demonstration is almost equals to civl war. in a sense we do not have heavy weaponry to fight police or any source of law and order entity.

I wouldn't call it 'ignorance' more like confusion. The ANC re-writes history on a daily basis.

Sadly, the more things change, the more they stay exactly the same. Still getting screwed by politicians and still watching the feeding frenzy

Dear Mr Golgberg

Sorry to bother you at this time, probably you are swamped with many otherwise progressive engagements that are meant to build this beautifull land of ours.

On that note, I would like to remind you of what you have alluded to earlier on. I quote, 'We didn't fight for people to get rich. I am putting into words what we all talked about then, End quote.

Sir, forgive my ignorance and lack of political consciousness (it's not done deliberately), but I am tempted to ask you this question: Do you consider yourself a poor white in this new South Africa you fought so hard for?

Yours in the struggle

Dear Mr Goldberg

A mere mortal like me could not have succeeded to engage with a defacto intellectual like you on issues of national importance - I should have known.

It seems as if, my duty is to imbibe pseudo-intellectual teachings and falsehoods from above and accepting them as the gospel truth. Look at the language you are using Sir, 'We didn't fight for people to get rich'. It is forceful, uncompromising and smacks of a decree issued to the already downtrodden!

Your outdated doctrine with Marxist propensities has no place in the so-called new South Africa.

In case you don't know me - I am black, proud and want to be rich through no corrupt means. Get my grip!!

I have always maintain that the damage by apartheid in our society was creating a culture of area bound. This has created a society which only know what is happening around themselves only. South Africans are very ignorant. I know it may sound like an insult but it is true. Compare ourselves as South Africans and the rest of our brothers and sisters from other African countries, they are just far ahead of us. We are not even interested to know about our own history yet we are so curious about what is happening in US and Europe. In actual fact we even wants to be European or Americans. Example, I have noticed that most people from Soweto does not know Pretoria and vise-versa and also in other areas of our country. Our African brothers/sisters have travell our country more than us. We are just not curiosy about our own country. Wake South Africa, Please

We need a new breed of leadership that throws the "struggle ideology" out the door and embraces pragmatic policies that allow businesses to flourish and so create jobs and wealth for all. Social engineering policies such as apartheid, RDP (and all its versions), BEE, AA and now the second stage of the liberation struggle (or whatever) are all doomed to failure because you cannot socially engineer free-thinking individuals no matter how hard you try. Ask the communists - they tried desperately for 80 decades and still failed miserably. Every time they think they have just the right policy some free-thinking wo/man finds a way around it and when enough people catch on, before they know it, their policy is worthless. This is why the ANC has to keep becoming more draconian in their policies and laws, untill the next "revolution" deposes them all - hopefully at the ballot box. The ANC has yet to mature and learn that when it comes to governance, less is more and social engineering is just a pointless exercise that accomplishes very little by way of deep-seated change in society.

Ofcourse most of people they have lost morals in politics and greediness has twisted their judgements. The only solution to this is to change the governing party because they are so deluded that carrying the ANC card means carrying a credit card for self enrichment. They dont take a dawm about the suffering nation. They have descended to the level of northern african states who beleive being in power entitles them to all their dreams than work, hence we have multitudes of african immigrants loitering our streets , yet all african states are free. The last standing question is, who is their oppressor and if we managed to fight for freedom against imperialists, why cannt we stay in our homelands and fight the wars to kick off our own greedy dictators. People should bear in mind that wars for freedom wasnt directed to colours of the oppressors but , most importantly it was directed to the stoney headed oppressors similar to some of our own colours that need bining to set people free.
All political rhetorics are irrational.
We all have to develop the working ethics for our own survivals than joining politics to steal from the nation. This new trend has became the african ailment that needs aggressive eradication.
