A Nigerian man was arrested on Tuesday for kidnapping a 16-year-old girl in Bellville, Cape Town.

City spokesman Richard Bosman said the Vice Squad arrested the man on Monday after a tip-off linked him to the kidnapping of the teenager from Durbanville.

The teenager was rescued last month at the Parksig Villas complex, in Bellville, where she was forced to use drugs and perform sexual acts for paying customers.

She was taken to a place of safety for counselling.

Bosman said the 39-year-old Nigerian was being detained at Bellville police holding cells.

He would appear on a charge of kidnapping in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

The matter has been handed to the Hawks human trafficking unit for further investigation.

“We urge communities to be vigilant and report any brothels and prostitution... in their neighbourhoods,” Bosman said.

I know a lot of really decent Nigerians (most of them in Nigeria and not here) but stories like this can even make me feel unreasonable about them.

This girl's life is now ruined. She will forever be attempting to recover from her addiction and her soul will forever be scared by this. There is no suitable punishment that is long and painful enough for what they have done to her

My sentiments as well. Those who are talking about ''Good Nigerians'' are talking about 10%, 90% of these scumbags are killers,gang rapists,drug dealers,fraudsters and human traffickers. This 39 year old must be squeezed to release all, This is not the first girl he has kidnapped.I don't believe this is his first victim, the investigators must squash his balls until he ejaculates on his pants. I know a number of girls who got sick and some were murdered by these Nigerians in my hometown of Springs,Ekurhuleni.

@Mellow i have a few 9ja friends, ...after reading some article of " Nolubanda,the drug mule" i'm starting to loose trust in the Nigerian community...did you know those heavy "cocaine dreadlocks" were done by two Nigerian ladies back in Brazil,after threa.tening "Babsie".....@moteke, ofcourse not all of them are destructive ...however my assumptions are.. we'll never do things like this back in their country..
