She has constatntly criticized the ANC for "failing" the people, the question is what has she done since 1994? Winnie is a lone ranger in politics and the ANC has kept quiet long enough out of respect for Madiba's name. She has been a constant source of embarassment to a point where Madiba had to seek redemption in divorce. Winnie has always been a member of the NEC, MP, leader of the ANCWL and also Deputy Minister, wielding enough power to make a difference in the lives of ordinary lives, but she chose to become an internal opposition within the ANC. You will understand the word "collective" when you outgrow the mentality of some ill-disciplined group in the ANCYL. Winnie was elected by conference, not appointed to become the opposition from within. Once decisions are taken by the collective, all, including those who argued against, must tow the line, and that does not amount to "dictatorship". The "Dictator" you are talking about was also elected at Polokwane and he must follow the directives of the NEC. The ANC does not need Winnie's permission to talk to Tata, the ANC cannot be seen to be undermining his current wife or pretending that Winnie is still the wife. The ANC has done what was expected by talking to Mandela's family and also Winnie, but obviously she wanted to be elevated to a platform above those who live and look after Mandela daily. I understand you young ones are very excited about Managaung and you see everything through "Mangaung coloured glasses". The ANC must exist beyond Mangaung. But the manner in which you are carrying on, even if you triumph, you will certainly inherit a more weaker ANC that will fail to gain enough majority in 2014, that will put to an end any dream of radically changing the economic landscape. The policy proposals agreed upon in the recent Policy Conferenece will only be realised if the ANC is more united and stronger than it is now. Stop thinking of Mangaung as the destination, but as a filling station to re-fill and refresh for the journey ahead. Zuma or no Zuma, Juju or no Juju, the ANC is bigger than all of us. Report Abuse

Winnie has always been a member of the NEC, MP, leader of the ANCWL and also Deputy Minister, wielding enough power to make a difference in the lives of ordinary lives, but she chose to become an internal opposition within the ANC. Winnie was elected by conference, not appointed to become the opposition from within. Once decisions are taken by the collective, all, including those who argued against, must tow the line, and that does not amount to "dictatorship". The "Dictator" you are talking about was also elected at Polokwane and he must follow the directives of the NEC. The ANC does not need Winnie's permission to talk to Tata, the ANC cannot be seen to be undermining his current wife or pretending that Winnie is still the wife. The ANC has done what was expected by talking to Mandela's family and also Winnie, but obviously she wanted to be elevated to a platform above those who live and look after Mandela daily. I understand you young ones are very excited about Managaung and you see everything through "Mangaung coloured glasses". The ANC must exist beyond Mangaung. But the manner in which you are carrying on, even if you triumph, you will certainly inherit a more weaker ANC that will fail to gain enough majority in 2014, that will put to an end any dream of radically changing the economic landscape. The policy proposals agreed upon in the recent Policy Conferenece will only be realised if the ANC is more united and stronger than it is now. Stop thinking of Mangaung as the destination, but as a filling station to re-fill and refresh for the journey ahead. Zuma or no Zuma, Juju or no Juju, the ANC is bigger than all of us.
