Four men held for for fake certificates
AN UNSUSPECTING ID applicant in Limpopo has landed four men in hot water when his particulars led to their arrest.
The four were found to be operating a scam to produce fake documents.
Police spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said a mini-Home Affairs clandestine operation was uncovered in Nkambako village near Letsitele. He said the four men were arrested for fraud and possession of suspected stolen property. The men, aged between 29 and 57, were arrested for producing fake birth certificates.
Mulaudzi said the investigation was prompted by a person who went to Home Affairs in Giyani to apply for an ID, only for officials to discover that his birth certificate was fake. The man led police to a hut in Nkambako village near Letsitele where the four men were arrested.
"Inside the hut we found six fake birth certificates, as well as a computer and scanner allegedly used to print the documents."

IDIOT!!!! the people who are arrested are our own South african Brothers. why is it convenient for you to ignore that only to have a go at Nigerians? thats why crime is such a huge problem here because we are quick to blame foreigners for all our problems.

I think this man got a fake birth certificate from these guys, then tried to use that to apply for an ID, but they caught him out at the Dept of Home Affairs. He was then probably told he would be arrested and he agreed to take them to where he had obtained the fake ID. Why he would be "unsuspecting" is rather unclear. Shocking journalism.Report Abuse
