A while a go there was an innocent citizen who was arrested for having a quater of that amount in Northern Cape , there is double standards here from police they should have arrested the onwer of the cash for having that cash in person

Just overheard a conversation on Talk radio 702, it turns out there is no law against having that amount of money in your possession. A person found with large amounts of money should however be able to provide information why they have that sort of money.

Recently Christo Wiese won a case where he had R8.6million on him (675000 pound sterling) and was confiscated at Heathrow, now that has to be returned to him.

So it would seem if you have so much money, it may be confiscated but if you are able to show how you came by that money it can be returned to you. It is not illegal!
