Take a bow
FIVE members of the Masuku family, who died in a fire in Soweto last week, were buried in dignity this week, thanks to a host of good Samaritans.
Khosi Radebe, 31, live-in-lover Vusi Masuku and their sons children Mpumelelo, 3, Sanele, 7, and Philani, 10, were laid to rest at Avalon Cemetery.
The tragic story of the family touched many people last week when Masuku, reportedly in a fit of jealousy, set their rented house in Zola alight after suspecting that Radebe was having an affair with his brother.
The children died instantly while the couple passed away at Chris Hani-Baragwanath Academic Hospital days later.
While the family was faced with a heavy load to bury the quintet, good Samaritans came forward and helped out.
They included the SA Funeral Practitioners Association, retail giants Checkers, Makro, Jumbo and Pick n Pay, Grace Bible Church and ordinary members of the local community.
We applaud them all for their generosity. Long may such spirit live.
