'I am still friends with my ex-wife'
WHILE his former friend Jackie "Finish and Klaar" Selebi is serving a 15-year jail term and suffering poor health, convicted drug lord Glen Agglioti is living it up.
Agglioti was spotted with his ex-wife, 40-year old Lelani, on Wednesday evening at the launch of the latter's boutique, Bella Azzurra, at the Pivot at Montecasino in northern Johannesburg.
They appeared very cosy for a divorced couple.
They kept holding each other's hands and looking into each other's eyes admiringly.
The couple, who married nearly five years ago, ended their relationship in 2010 after reaching an amicable settlement.
Part of the settlement was that the couple's children should live with Lelani, while Agglioti undertook to maintain them financially, as well as have visitation rights.
Agglioti, whose testimony sunk former national police commissioner Selebi, told Sowetan that he was still very good friends with his former wife.
"We have two beautiful children together - a three-year-old and a four-year-old. There is no reason we should not be friends," Agglioti said.
The 56-year-old Agglioti said he was getting on with his life but added that it was difficult on him and his family.
About his ex-wife's new venture, Agglioti said owning a boutique had always been Lelani's dream.
"She did it with a very small budget. She wants to showcase young and less fortunate designers. The store has nothing to do with me. It is totally hers," he said.
Agglioti, who used to attend his court proceedings looking very stylish, said Lelani, a qualified stylist, was behind his swanky and impressive look.
"My ex-wife used to style me whenever I went to court. She chose every item. She still dresses me," Agglioti said.
Lelani said the aim of the boutique was to make people understand that "you do not have to be rich to have a stylist. You can look good no matter your budget." - email@example.com
