A nurse at Chris Hani-Baragwanath Hospital has been stabbed by her boyfriend at the hospital in Soweto, police said.
Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto said the nurse was stabbed 10 times after her boyfriend approached her in the hospital on Thursday.
It was not immediately clear what caused the attack.
The nurse was taken to the Milpark Hospital where she was recovering.
Police were searching for her boyfriend.
Last weekend, a mentally ill man stabbed several people, including an intern doctor, in the same hospital.
The man, who was a patient at the hospital, apparently became aggressive and attacked the doctor and other patients.
