I personally do not agree with Comrade Zuma's plan to turn Nkandla into a City or even a serious shopping complex. The little village has got nothing to offer for South Africa to warrant that huge leap development. It will be a waste of money for our country because the village will not bring any huge economic or financial gain to the country. Is like buying a sack of oranges with R50 and gaining zero profit out of it because of giving it all away. Now if Mr President does not know about that well that is not how you do business. The money could have been used to rebuild Pilgrimrest in Mpumalanga which have a mine that will contribute to development and healthy business opportunities and also to develop fallen Agricultural land which ceased to operate after expropriation due to lack of skill and financial backlog. This are the problems associated with a leadership which is not educated and have got only one goal which is to loot the Government! But however I do not agree with the ANCYL on the issue of nationalizing mines and other big businesses in the country, the reason is because we do not have money to expropriate as our law does not allow us to expropriate without compensation as such paying for the seized land out of Government pocket will certainly bankrupt the country and most of all we do not have the relevant skill and experience to run those assets should we nationalize we will have a total shutdown and a serious economic disaster! It is not what you say but how you say it that matters. This weekend on my time of exploring SA I went to Taung just to see my country from that side, last I was @ limpopo i just saw a slice of it. The boy has point, South Africa is huge hence it has 9 provinces and you cannot look one side and ignore the other side. The government must do something about the land. It will be enough for every one there is no need to fight or the other part to panic. The other part must be given a share too provided it will be used to benefit the country in terms of producing food. Report Abuse

.Is that all you can say? Juju wasting money or generating money from ANC backyard....bla..bla ...bla... My friend you should expand your political vocabulary urgently. Zuma is the one who is busy wasting money now, bcos he is still paying Juju from the grave. Zuma reshuffled his ANC parliament more than five times in one term, married and pregnanted different nonwives and wives at the costs of state. He made series of trips to different countries in the world just to say
"Nationalisation is not our policy “while those countries used telephone enquiring about nationalisation status in RSA. He made unnecessary alliance with very lethal family called"Gupta" in the expense of state funds. He went on making rural Nkandla Hollywood not because of his service delivery potential, but because of favouritism and his selfish culture

Do you know that Zimbabwe(Mugabe) was fomerly known as jewel of Africa (I can almost hear you saying that South Africa will never be Zimbabwe), DRC is a potential goldmine because of the natural resources it possess, Angola is suppose to be a developed state (Dos Santos) but because of sectarian tendencies only presidents and his cronies tribes is flourishing, Ecquitaorial Guinea the oil there is massive but.......whats happening in Nigeria (South and North, Islam vs Christianity). Hey Traveljunie lets quickly put things into perspective, if Dandan and other anc following after Mr standard 3 were educated, do you honestly believe that they will allow themselves to be lead by a clueless former herdboy with no formal education? And btw speaking truth even the one that hurts is not an insult and of course debate is not going to advance cause most are clueless about what needs to be debated and have no ability to agree to disagree with their opponents, and in my life participating in SAn political forums all that one ever hear is sloganeering either for anc or the other other, constructive debate is rare. or well thought out comments are rare,

I really dont balme Zuma for doing that cos I will definitely do the same. Why should i leave my village undevelop while i have power to? people, come-on, this is reality, why would i continue to drive in a dusty road if i can turn up things with a snap of a finger. I would do anything and everything to develop where i come from. thats why some youths as Seshego turned against Juju because he forgot where he came from

well said, beautiful woman, its not only the politicians even the business people ,CEOs etc have turn their back on areas where they come from, I know one of the prosperous wine maker who is now located in CT yet is from Nongoma Sbu Ntshangase , there is nothing is doing in Nongoma to aspire upcoming entrepreneurs, I dont understand why with bl.acks have to be fakes, get attracted to materials innovated by whit.es instead of creating our own world like Zuma in order to prove a point that we are capable.

No one is saying that nkhandla should not benefit from development. It should! But the problem that arises is:
1. Is it only being developed because its the presidents hometown.
2. Who is benefitting financially from its development, ie the tender.
3. Are other rural areas also subject to the same development.
4. Does it get the majority of the development budget as a result of it being the presidents home town.
5. Does zuma's homestead get more development than the other places in nkhandla because he is the president.

No one is saying that nkhandla should not benefit from development. It should! But the problem that arises is:
1. Is it only being developed because its the presidents hometown.
Res: It is the priority of the ruling party which is rural development
2. Who is benefitting financially from its development, ie the tender.
Res: workers , are getting jobs, even the mantainance of the village will be done by workers eg electricity, plumbing, tiles, bricklaying etc part of job creation
3. Are other rural areas also subject to the same development.
Res: interesting question indeed, who said Thabo Mbeki must nt develop where he comes from, instead goes to Houghton, thats what I hate with us b.lacks as I said why do we rush to whi.te areas instead of creating our own space
4. Does it get the majority of the development budget as a result of it being the presidents home town.
Res: the issue of budget is nt important, as long as the costs -benefit is justified
5. Does zuma's homestead get more development than the other places in nkhandla because he is the president.
Res: intersting question again, dont forget Jacob Zuma Foundation Trust that has help thousands and thousands of children going to uneversities compared to Ratanang Trust
6. If zuma's homestead gets more development then why should the taxpayer have to pay for its improvement, when the improvement should be coming out of his own pocket.
Res: Im nt clear with this question, I really dont understand your question, if there is development then the development must fund itself , I dont get it really, for me its like saying , roads improvement must fund itself yet you refuse to pay etolls

I am not sure about this ANCYL, they are the people who championed the election of Zuma today they say ohh no no no get him off he is not good for us, they again displayed to the nation that they are rich and own mansions and they displayed their arrogance, now they come up again and say we want nationalisation, have they prepared the people for that nationalisation? What have they done for the youth who voted them? Does the ANCYL address the interests of the youth in SOUTH AFRICA? The politics of ANCYL is boring, they do not know what they are doing...they insulted the leader of DA now they went back again and say oh we are sorry, they insulted Mr Mbeki they went back and apologise , what does that say about them?=UNSTABLE. There are provinces where youth have no books actually the whole of education system has failed what does ANCYL say?=they are not interested because it is not bringing in money, if they challenge Zuma about the level of education they must also show us their slates? 1. Yes rural areas should be developed.
2. Yes people get jobs as a result of the development. But what happens when funds are stolen by the contractors because they got the tender due to connections and not skills and see this development as a way of enriching themselves, which could lead to shoddy development.
3. Thabo could have developed his hometown, but would it have been done at the expense of having other areas underdeveloped.
4. The budget is very important. If an area is being developed then all places in that area should benefit equally from development and not only one or a select few because its the presidents.
5.Yes jacob has a trust, but the issue here is that its not the trust paying for the development, its taxpayers.
6. There's a difference between developing a place and improving it. If a house is built for me and I decide that I want to add a second floor or an extra bathroom, thats an improvement and should come out of my own pocket Report Abuse

This is not the same SubCity Tracy Chapman prophesised abt :
People say it doesn't exist
'Cause no one would like to admit
That there is a city underground
Where people live everyday
Off the waste and decay
Off the discards of their fellow man
Here in subcity life is hard
We can't receive any government relief
I'd like to please give Mr. President my honest regards
For disregarding me
They say there's too much crime in these city streets
My sentiments exactly
Government and big business hold the purse strings
When I worked I worked in the factories
I'm at the mercy of the world
I guess I'm lucky to be alive
They say we've fallen through the cracks
They say the system works
But we won't let it help
I guess they never stop to think
We might not just want handouts
But a way to make an honest living
Living this ain't living
What did I do deserve this
Had my trust in god
Worked everyday of my life
Thought I had some guarantees
That's what I thought
At least that's what I thought
Last night I had another restless sleep
Wondering what tomorrow might bring
Last night I dreamed
A cold blue light was shining down on me
I screamed myself awake
Thought I must be dying
Thought I must be dying

You are confusing me here, if you condemn Mr Pres for making treaties with other presidents(countries), no country can live on their onw they need eachother. His traveling covers such aspects, I think yo condemnation is baseless here. As for many wives and making women pregnant, that I cannot condone, but still you cant boastful point a pluck to other men, before cleaning your onw eyes. I like his/Pres' attitude for taking his wives to the podium; and introduced them to the public. Unlike those other people who hit and run, they usually do it in their secret chambers. They impregnanted lot of girls yet they come to the public and point pluck to that poor man! For insight: If it happens you are having sexual intercouse in/outside marriage; you ought to know that is Sacred(spiritula) Marriage/ if man knows a female that is spiritual marriage/ you can call it Soul Ties. So you look around you and see how many young people are involved in SoulTies. Lastly, people should learn to respect their leaders, if you critice them, it's good but you need to be constructive not reflecting your homestead breeding. thedse forums tell us how you were raised.

Perhaps Zuma's thinking is that he will only be voted by iNkandla folks, hence the much concentration of development in his home village. Is he not aware that the ANC is voted nationwide in order for it to retain power and for him to stay in power?
He would be advised to do that which he does in iNkandla in all South African villages in order for him to stay in power.

But however I do not agree with the ANCYL on the issue of nationalizing mines and other big businesses in the country, the reason is because we do not have money to expropriate as our law does not allow us to expropriate without compensation as such paying for the seized land out of Government pocket will certainly bankrupt the country and most of all we do not have the relevant skill and experience to run those assets should we nationalize we will have a total shutdown and a serious economic disaster!Report Abuse

The other part must be given a share too provided it will be used to benefit the country in terms of producing food.Report Abuse

.Is that all you can say?

NB. All in all people like you , really I have problem with because they think that the best things should go to the wh.ite areas, I dont understand why we blac.k professionals are like these, maaan can we please change our mind focus and stop running after white.s , this is serious because with muslims they are on their own , you will never see them sucking whites a$$. We like to go out bragging about being graduates yet we are nt creative and innovative , look at the man with Standard 3, far creative than you with Masters degree

We are in this turmoil because of the ANCYL shortsightedness, we cannot afford to listen to them. ANCYL has been very very reckless during Malema reign.Report Abuse

@truthhurtsbenefit or no benefits to the community, the status of the president is not the same as everyone's. whether u like it or not he is the first citizen, therefore him first then the rest will follow. that is why when u go to parliament u will hear of things like Protocol. I am not Zuma's supporter nor like him, unfortuantely that how things are done even if it means shifting funds from somewhere to build a security wall around his village/house. That will be done regardless. U must visit parliaments or the nearest legislature to be taught on this things. One other thing is that, u may find that the president himself didnt know of the planned development in his area and got informed like anyone else.

@dandan.1.
If a house is built for me and I decide that I want to add a second floor or an extra bathroom, thats an improvement and should come out of my own pocket

well said, think of Mom Mbeki at Qunu, her sons cannt even built her an RDP , kesono uyatsiba, the old lady is suppose to have a house with bathroom and toilet inside otherthan to go out in the evening when it is raining, instead these two old men are living posh life styles in Houghton, mcxxxm, are you suggesting to me is this how you treat your mom
Thats the biggest mistake they have ever done, I would have built a mansion if it was me regardless of what people would have said. Some people will call it corruption but I cant neglect my family, they must leave a decent life.

@cocoluchoplease try to be accurate with analytical skills , I regard you as a professional , remember Zuma is a Pres as well as citizen of Nkadla (wearing two caps), his prerrogatives /ambitions must nt exceed Prov Dept of Rural Dev & Land Reform , as far as I understand Zuma approached business people like Patrice etc to inject funds at Nkandla, in other words I say his plan must nt be in conflict with Prov Rur Dev& Land Reform in KZN as long as his plans will only be limited to his ward , its fine, hope you get this one
In that sense cocoluch learn something with you masters degree to write a proposal to any business people to develop your area, in that regard dont go out blame others whereas you are more obsessed with your degrees that are nt benefiting the society.

I don't mind a little bit of rual areas development..I don't care where it happens as long as it is happening. The Bantustan was far better than this democratically elected govtment as far as rural development is concerned .If you go to some rural areas you still find a tar road that was built during the are of Mangope.Had Manope still been in power you would have seen that tar road upliftment and areas developing.I still maintain the ANC has failed us.Only good in campaigning ,,by promising the masses rural development, job creationn and housing and all sorts of crap that they can't fulfill.Report Abuse

@Dandan..Mbeki must go and build a house for his mother...thats not right, let us not tell people wrong things, at his home in Idutywa the home is well built and the mother used to own a shop, so we can just tackle Mbeki on other issues but otherwise he has a well established home because of her mother, and he visits his mother and the mother is an ex-teacher. And his mother built before he became the president of the country.Report Abuse

This is not the same SubCity Tracy Chapman prophesised abt :People say it doesn't exist
'Cause no one would like to admit
That there is a city underground
Where people live everyday
Off the waste and decay
Off the discards of their fellow man
Here in subcity life is hard
We can't receive any government relief
I'd like to please give Mr. President my honest regards
For disregarding me
They say there's too much crime in these city streets
My sentiments exactly
Government and big business hold the purse strings
When I worked I worked in the factories
I'm at the mercy of the world
I guess I'm lucky to be alive
They say we've fallen through the cracks
They say the system works
But we won't let it help
I guess they never stop to think
We might not just want handouts
But a way to make an honest living
Living this ain't living
What did I do deserve this
Had my trust in god
Worked everyday of my life
Thought I had some guarantees
That's what I thought
At least that's what I thought
Last night I had another restless sleep
Wondering what tomorrow might bring
Last night I dreamed
A cold blue light was shining down on me
I screamed myself awake
Thought I must be dying
Thought I must be dying

.Is that all you can say?
Secretary
Lets challenge and provide alternatives to what we oppose. Jesus Saves Souls!!! Jesus is Lord!
