A GRADE 4 girl sustained a serious injury to her right hand in an alleged whipping at a Limpopo school.
The girl's teacher is now allegedly in trouble with the provincial education authorities after the alleged beating.
The Mokati Primary School pupil was allegedly left with a swollen right hand after the beating and was treated at a local clinic.
The incident allegedly took place at Mmotong village outside Polokwane on June 11.
The teacher allegedly accused the girl of making a noise and being disruptive.
The girl's mother, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, said she was angry about the incident.
She said the teacher took her daughter to the local clinic because her hand was swollen.
Provincial education's Pat Kgomo condemned the alleged whipping. He said the department would send officials to investigate the matter.
