Mangaung o re tlela ka mehlolo, our leader is so disperate for the second term that he sees the need to go to the people and unfortunately it is too late.

Another publicity stunt. If there's one man who knows how to manipulate the ANC as well as the multi diverse communities of this country - JZ is that man. I just hope that Mangaung delegates will for once do the right thing in Mangaung - vote with their heads. We get it from the sidelines that the "Drunkards" that say the Juju's matter is closed are in for a suprise.

Does it mean the following day everything will be better? The last time I checked Ministers of Human settlement slept in a shack@ Diepsloot in order to observe how people live in a shack with a promise that He will change their lives. Diepsloot is still the same as it was before his visits. So even this one is a stunt, by next year this time it will be the same. It was a joyride.

Plus next time he should show up unannounced so that metrorail wont make sure that the 7am train is ready to depart on time as its forever late.

In a press statement after his train trip, President (the spear) Zuma's spokesman Jackson (the drunkard) denied the rumour that he is planning to place tolls on all the railway lines in Gauteng. "We know that the service is very poor, after all it was inherited from apartheid so we are not to blame, but we must upgrade it and to do this we need to find money. We are however not considering putting e-tolls on the lines as this would not look good coming so soon after the e-toll problems on the highways." When asked where the money would come from the spokesman replied, "Well, we've increased Eskom tariffs by over 100% and we're about to start increasing water tariffs by a similar amount, so I suppose we'll just have to put up the price of a train ticket by 150% - after all this is free enterprise. If you don't like it there are alternatives like get a bicycle or walk or you can even buy a skateboard, they're really cheap."

@Onee and then we respond with being cynical when that artist (4gotten his name now) pens a songs which says blacks are stupid, cause really its stupid to keep voting for a system which only serves to dis-empower you, think about it, these poor ppl living in these squalor conditions most of them and their children are victims of vicious crime sweeping thru the country uncontrollably, they are victims due to the fact they have no resources, how can they not want a better life for their children, how can they sign the future of their children to the live of grinding poverty, so i ask, why were black ppl angry when that artist wrote a song which tells us the truth about majority of us, cause it was majority blacks who voted zuma to power, not that there was any doubts even back that he was a disaster waiting to happen, some of us said this we are told we were coconuts, now what does it take for a black person in Africa to say, I deserve better life for myself and my children? or they are just content to be just peasants?

I don't think we can manage to build the infrastructure we need as quick as we need it.
Call China to come get the job done quick quick. As China plan to build 40 super train lines over 3 years. They can help us cos then the $$$ will go to them and not get stolen

@WarrenG china had most public transport accident recorded last year in the world, do you really want someone with such a profile to come build public transport infrastructure in SA?

I don't mind paying a bit more for quality outcome, hence I'd go with Germans on this, they supply many europeans countries with public infrastructure support/development, and when Africa starts to invest on stuff which matters most such public transport/health care/education only then we will see our economy starting to develop.

@Nkasegobotsesephirise
Yes, the voters will innocently vote themselves into poverty, hunger and homelessness becase they simply adore tata Zuma. This, after all, is the lot of black South Africans, isn't it? They must bear the cross while Zuma (the spear man) humps his way into wealth, good health and extreme luxury at their expense. Nudge, nudge ;) ;)

I personally know that daily ticket is expensive than weekly or monthly ticket. Is either the Maungaung race has began, via the train or the President feels safe, since Mr Ndebele is no longer transport Minister.

Cheap publicy stunt. If you want 1st hand experience of the service the people receive, don't announce your visit. If you want you can disguise yourself so that you don't draw attention and see from a normal dude's eyes.......

The last time I had about the Zuma train it was heading to Polokwane, surely it is looking for the direction to Maungaung. Haven't our leaders realized that STUNT never worked, Jeff Radebe during his days as Transport Minister and Tokyo Sexwale slept in Diepslot. One thing for sure nothing has changed.

Its a mystery to me!

The guy's president of our country and he pretends that he is soooo remote that he has no idea of the parlous state of affairs on our railways and the very huge difference between commuter class and "gautrain" class...

He also pretends that all he needs to is visit around on a coupla trains, walk through a taxi rank and take a ride on a bus and then he be au fait with all the problems of the South African transport infrastructure.

And then he wants my vote?????

Its been like this for the past 60 years, Mr President - it didn't happen overnight...

And then he tells us it cain't be fixed immediately!

We know that! We watching and listening to the fat cats every year for 60 years telling us is gonna be fixed - then nothing happens!!!

You gonna lose the nomination and your cronies gonna lose lotsa seats in parliament. I don't want the sacntimonius DA but I also want y'alls to stop fucking up our country!

YOU HEAR ME ?

@MasheleJ on another article he said we shld blame apartheid not the anc for the state of public transport affair, this guy just can't be real, why shld we blame apartheid if majority SAns didn't vote apartheid? majority voted anc so that they can make it better not worse.
