HIV/Aids counsellors in Gauteng have not been paid their R1,500 monthly stipend, the DA says.
At Yusuf Dadoo Hospital in Krugersdorp about 20 HIV/Aids counsellors have not received their stipend for four months.
"This is a very sad situation as they do valuable work," DA Gauteng Health Spokesman Jack Bloom said in a statement.
"Poor financial administration still bedevils the Gauteng Health Department.
"There is no excuse for late payments for anything."
Bloom said he had written to Department Head Dr Nomonde Xundu to request that the department urgently rectify the non-payments to HIV/Aids counsellors.

I wonder if JZ thinks these valuable workers dont have bills to pay, children to feed, etc. That is why I resigned from the ANC in 1992 and left the country to disasociate myself and keep my armed struggle memoirs intact. I knew they were never going to deliver. If these workers desert their posts, heaven only knows what is going to happen in the fight against HIV- AIDSReport Abuse
