The ANC should review its endless appeal procedures - you cannot run a mammoth organisation with discipline if there is no decisiveness. I hope they mean it when they say "matter is closed" now. And as for the ANCYL making a weak statement like they don't know what sins they have committed, it shows that realisation is setting in at last about who is the boss. I am glad the mother body's pre-eminence has been established again - order established. Report Abuse

Viva ANC Viva, Comrades only if everybody could see the is someone behind Comrade Malema down fall. somebody who is already feeling the defeat on december, how could you be happy and proud to announce the matter being closed.i'm mean Politics should be debated then we could say a person lost out on a fair debate. just like in a Court of law...you lose a case at magistrate court then you take your case to Supreme high court were you case will be heared.
So in this case of Comrade Julius, Something fishy is going on here wheather we like him or not there is a conspiracy taking place you wait and see. but we as the Youth League we still keeping the mommentum we still confident that President Malema will be back on the drive seat where he belongs. This is what actually happened, you be your own judge.
YL Review dismissed. Zuma dictated terms. Kgalema launched the attack saying the review must be finished today. Tokyo launched a blistering attack on Zuma direct. Nomvula sold us out and said we are lobbying them at night. Jeff confesses that on Magaqa's matter, they made a mistake and Zuma insisted that no review. Mbaks fought, Tony nearly fought physically with Blad...e. Zuma summarised and said, NEC of the ANC must convene YL and tell them that this matter is over and in both Policy conference and Mangaung, nobody must raise this matter. The matter was closed. Battle line were drawn there. Our forces spoke. Lumka Yengeni, Siphiwe Nyanda, Paul Mashatile, Soviet, Mbalula, Tokyo, Songezo, Cassel Mathale, Zamani, Tandi Toobais, DSG, TG, DP, Mathole Motshekga, Taba Mufumadi fought out right. Some NEC members(David Makhura) were barred an opportunity to speak and were ordered by Zuma directly not to speak at all. YL waqs denied a constitutional right by Zuma.

It is understood that Zuma said the sentences could not be reviewed and that the national executive committee would have to convene a meeting with the youth league in which the matter would finally be buried and not be raised again, not even at the ruling party's national policy conference in Gauteng this month or its elective conference in December.

well Churchil once said democracy is the worst form of gorvenment save for the ones that have already failed, it means even fools get to vote for their leader, but that doesnot mean they are right in their choice of candidate, u see in this world there are those capable to deduct from a situation and those who cannot deduct any sense from any sistuation. Tsotsi does nt understand where we come from and where we are, completely lost , disoriented, why we have senior leaders with experience to show leadership. According to Tsotsi any person old must step aside and allow youth to run the show.
Tsostsi must understand this country has laws and depended on other countries as part of globalisation not necessarily that the country must be dictated by foreign countries. The point I am making is, now that Malemas camp is pretty clear that they are losing the battle towards Mongaung they try some dirty tricks that are unnecessary to attack the NEC unfortunately they have failed the status quo remains, Malema is fired.
True members of the anc in good standing will do all means to defend the anc against Malema who is using the anc as his Ratanang Trust. Tsotsi has no point here, he fails to understand that the very same people fighting Malema is the YL itself, a situation caused by the very same Malema for interfering with Prov Elec Conf for the Youth in Limp,ECape,KZN these forces are coming back to Malema to haunt him, the very same dictatorship he showed to Mosoga,Mabe etc to come here and point fingers at Zuma is ill advised.
In other words we are nt denting economic transformation there are so many people who were fired before Malema if that is nt the case all the previous cases should be reviewed eg Holomisa,Nkabinde etc
Zuma is worse than Idi Amin, how can he order all members of the ANC not to raise the issue at conference. Has this man ever read the constitution of the ANC? Does he think he rules the ANC by decree now? Indeed under Zuma democracy has been replaced by dictatorship. Comrades lets remain resolute and fight this tyranny. We must never surrender our freedom to any dictator, lets go to the branches and swell the ranks of our organization. Lets go to Mangaung and reclaim our movement. Report Abuse

Coming back to BEE policies, some mines were part of empowerment deals yet Malema comes to take back those mines for the state, what is it that bla.cks must own, instead of pushing more bla.cks to own mines you take them to the state. Report Abuse

Unfortunately, ppl seem to think that one has to be a loud speaker to be elected. So, politicians, being politicians, are using that to their advantage. The are exalted to positions of power yet they have no idea on how to use that power.
I would blame our society in general for lacking in ethics and values. The politicians come from the society. It would be very difficult for unethical behaviour by politicians had we had an ethical society.
The follow up with. have u watched TV lately, they got this adverts of heroes from the comunity, amongst those heroes are the real politicians, there are those whon died for blowing the whistle against corruption, your jimmy mtlala and likes, they are there in numbers, the problem is they lack what juju have, money and big mouth, but they exist in numbers, they put whats right before their own personal needs

I wldn't go as so far as to say many in the anc ledership are afraid of Juju there is nothing to be afraid of inasfaras Juju goes, but what I know is that the anc leaders use guys like Malema to garner for power that is how Zuma got to power, when he was no longer useful to him he got tossed aside, its very sad that the anc leaders have become so shallow, they have abandoned pursuit of social justice for popular-ism, I saw Malema tagging along Winnie when she was being released from hospital, that is a message to Zuma from Winnie that if I don't get my share of the truth I will set (my trusted bulldog) Malema after you in Manguang. Once you fall, you must stand up and not only beat the dust but also learn from what beat you in the first place.Kingdom rises and fall but surely when the cake is well baked,it will be ready for consumtion at the time and wont stay fresh for ever. Please go back to your ZIMBABWEN principles, learn the ways of their ants and be wise, maybe this will somehow guarantee your political come back but i doubt if it will be for the ANC......... Land restitution is much complicated than that. Firstly black people's land was forcefully dispossessed from them by the then government. Blacks were denied the right to own land. If blacks were occupying land which was not in the released areas (meaning prime land) they were forcefully removed and it was then given to van der Merwe and he was subsidised so he can develop the land. Mind you the blacks were not compensated, they were merely dumped in the released areas, mostly homelands. So I am not too sure from whom you bought the land from, but if its rightful owners were unlawfully dispossesed of their land then they must get it back. "..... jz has let people go because of stuff..." for majority of times, you are a well reasoned person, but to say zuma has let ppl off because of some stuff is factually not correct, jz appraised a person who is confirmed to have defrauded the nation, shiceka, he also went to privately meet with an undesirable (cele) he associates with guys like Mdluli, he is surrounded by the undesirables and shoddy ppl.
What i am saying is that JZ must go cos he has failed us as a leader...Where on earth can a leader always appoint ppl who are not right...It means a lot about that person...Mo Shaik,Heath, the late shiceka, Jimmy manye, Cele the list is endless....I am just saying the guy must leave for the sake of the nation.
The thing is u doubt the Youth by saying they dont even know how to implement the issues. It is not about the ANCYL to implement the issues but to raise them so that the nation can debate and comeup with the good way of implementing the issues it is a national issue not and ANCYL matter....Thats where many ppl fail to understand....

Now the Youth league's executive is trying to mislead the youth by feeding them wrong information...these people pray on the young people's desperation....Look How is nationalization going to benefit an ordinary young person in Malelane?how is it going to create jobs?are they going to fire the people that are currently employed in the mines?Eish it confusing... I'm reminded of some spoilt children from my youth. If one of them was told to stop hurting the cat the invariable response was "what cat"? The other tactic they used was to question the reprimand and then to question the reasonng and then to query the reasoning behind the reasoning. Why why why why.... It becomes tedious and only serves to remind the adult that chilren are being dealt with.
Julian and his cronies, being undereducated and deliberately misunderstanding the view of political democracy they have, imagine that all they need do is cause contoversy to become elected.
But managing an election and providing good governence are different kettles of fish.
So the short answer appears to be is to just continue promoting controversy - untill someone becomes tired of childish petulance and moves the children away from the adults as the NEC has now done.
What the ANC really need to do is to appoint a constitutional "nanny" to the ANCYL in order to guide and supervise the political development of immature leaders because we can now see how foolish and distracting such persons can be when left to their own devices... Report Abuse

One thing is clear about Jacob Zuma and his acolytes. They have no respect or regard for the country's democratic constitution and institutions, and also the ANC's own constitution. It should be remembered that one of the reasons Thabo Mbeki did not want Zuma and his acolytes to ascend to power was actually fear of this development. The judiciary form the Constitutional Court to ordinary courts are under attack. Their decisions around the SAPS, NPA, Special Investigation Unit, Public Works, SABC have precipitated a number of crises. And now Jacob Zuma is talking about a "second transition" when he cannot even manage the current situation. Let no ANC member be deceived by this empty rhetoric about a "second transition", which based on the current record of the incumbent may well be a transition to economic collapse and grinding and abject poverty. Within the ANC, the fact Jacob Zuma and his acolytes cannot even afford fellow members of the ANC their constitutional rights speaks for itself, the only thing they know best is to cling to power at any cost. The ANC Youth League's confidence and trust in Jacob Zuma and his acolytes on the ANC NEC have once again being misplaced. The ANC Youth League can no longer assume that they are dealing with leaders who are amenable to sound argument and reason. They can safely assume that they are dealing with a power-drunk dictator and his acolytes, prepared to use every trick in the book to retain power in Mangaung. The ANC Youth League has to devise innovative ways to deal with this internal threat and find ways of influencing branches to bring about change in Mangaung. If I were the ANC Youth League I would not even waste my time meeting with the likes of Jacob Zuma and Gwede Mantashe. Their minds are made up. It is time to go directly to ANC branches. Report Abuse

We can do that in a dignified manner. The sad part that is counter revolutionary is that the ANC of today has been hijacked by careerist and opportunists something that Mbeki warned about in Polokwane, hence the rot. You don't have to be pro nationalisation to know that the owner of the land can do many things with his land. He can sell it for profit. 100% a very real example.....in the former soviet states all the land was nationalised during the communist period...following the collapse of the communist experiment...in all the soviet states...the land was given back to the people.... as a result....lots of people have little strips of land all next to each other.... (Look on Google maps salalite view is you like Romania for example) was one of the wealthiest countries in Europe prior to the soviet era.... now there are millions of little farmers each trying to do a little thing, with many of the lands standing empty..... For farming to Work in a modern world a professional farmer with modern techniques and equipment is needed, in order to get the economies of scale right....... from case history, And the worst for the former soviet countries ....they now import their food from the European neighbours who didnt have this nationalised land stupidity.

Let me attempt to answer you. Land has becoming a thorny issue. If one looks back, the Land Bank was given billions to buy land from farmers and give it to aspirant bl@ck farmers to cultivate the land and grow our food. We all know that this resulted in some senior employees of the bank being arrested for corruption. Past inequalities cannot be addressed over night.
We need to start deleting the entitlement syndrome from our communities. The government must create an enabling environment for business to flourish. We need to put more emphasis on education and this thing of the struggle credentials should be abolished. At the moment, we need to agree to disagree, that there is a vaccuum in terms of leadership in the country and the ship has steered from course, long time ago.

I hear you there, but considering that ppl just want to get and get, and the government wants to give & give, how can we balance the platform of rich & poor?
My take on this is that it will take a very long time for the government to correct the imbalances, bearing in mind that with democracy comes privatisation, and privatisation on its own creates the rich and poor. We are not born equal. At the very least, our government can start by creating an education system that supports our economy. If you look at the Americans, for example, they have the oldest democracy, hence privatisation is working well with them. It is time for this generation of the ANC Youth League and yout around the country to rise up (through peaceful means) against this dictatorship and save the ANc and the whole country from these idiots. Let's not be fooled by their cowardice. They are very afraid of the youth. It is time to put them on the run. Some of them ar working tirelessly day and night to sow divisions in the Youth League by urging their lapdogs to come out and congratulate them on this self-serving act. Not before long we shall hear their lapdogs in KZN and elsewhere coming out to say the ANC has spoken and that we should all respect the decision. These guys did not even want to review the case because they know that these disciplinary outcomes cannot survive an honest and objective review. They were not going to let the facts get in the way of their factionalist agenda. And their best solution is dictatorship and shutdown. Let's see how they convince the youth. Report Abuse

In the long run, this begging society is not a sustainable model. The millions that we spent on the grant system, while the fathers go on as nothing has happened is not a long term solution. Sexwale has been talking about using human settlement as a growth stimuli and he has not perfected that art.
Our education system is in shambles but we do not hold a seminar to confront the challenge but there will be a seminar for the spear? Our prioritise are wrong and in terms of elections, the way I see it, maybe emotions will start deteriorating after three elections because we do not have a party without a political baggage. I do not believe in the 'new lite' kind of parties.
One day the masses will wake up and start their own political party, that I am prepared to support, as long as there are no political crosstitutes like the Ziba Jiyane's of this world.

From early age, children should be taught entrepreneurial skills. The government on its own cannot create employment. So, after Grade 12, or even tertiary, children should have options available of starting businesses. Our GDP, in my view, is less than what it should be, because it costs us more to produce an item, compared to someone in Europe for example.
There is a shortage of necessary skills. Engineers, Doctors, Architects. Also, our children are mathematically challenged because from long ago, Maths & Science were perceived to be difficult subjects, but with the right mentoring our children can excel so we can produce our own architects. engineers, etc. Report Abuse

I know I am putting my head on the block. I believe that I honour my relatives when the are still alive. So whether they are buried or cremated is not an issue with you. This is what actually happened, you be your own judge.YL Review dismissed.

You don't have to be pro nationalisation to know that the owner of the land can do many things with his land. He can sell it for profit. He can get an investor to develop the land and they would thereafter share the profits. He can get a loan and then develop the land himself and utilise it for profit. I wldn't go as so far as to say many in the anc ledership are afraid of Juju there is nothing to be afraid of inasfaras Juju goes, but what I know is that the anc leaders use guys like Malema to garner for power that is how Zuma got to power, when he was no longer useful to him he got tossed aside, its very sad that the anc leaders have become so shallow, they have abandoned pursuit of social justice for popular-ism, I saw Malema tagging along Winnie when she was being released from hospital, that is a message to Zuma from Winnie that if I don't get my share of the truth I will set (my trusted bulldog) Malema after you in Manguang. but both are there to adress enequality and bring about economic freedom, so u cannot separate the two. if the land owner had purchased the land then its up to him to do as he likes , but a gorvenment purchased farm should be used for the same purpose thats on the claim forms(enpower the owners and profitable usage of the farm by the owners. what u say is like geting a farm via gorvenment and then leaseing it to a Chinees taxtile factory? does that make sense? If blacks were occupying land which was not in the released areas (meaning prime land) they were forcefully removed and it was then given to van der Merwe and he was subsidised so he can develop the land. Mind you the blacks were not compensated, they were merely dumped in the released areas, mostly homelands. So I am not too sure from whom you bought the land from, but if its rightful owners were unlawfully dispossesed of their land then they must get it back. I'm reminded of some spoilt children from my youth. If one of them was told to stop hurting the cat the invariable response was "what cat"? The other tactic they used was to question the reprimand and then to question the reasonng and then to query the reasoning behind the reasoning. Why why why why.... It becomes tedious and only serves to remind the adult that chilren are being dealt with.Julian and his cronies, being undereducated and deliberately misunderstanding the view of political democracy they have, imagine that all they need do is cause contoversy to become elected.

Those in the ANC YL should be learning something from the JL, SM and FS expulsion, one being that politics should not be taken as a main career. If the YL was so sincere about empowering the youth and the poor then we were supposed to be reading a different story perhaps that JL, SM and FS have formed a business consortium which is contributing positively in the country's economy.

Problem with most ppl including urself, u get personal and attack ppl when u cannot debate anymore. I do not have to agree with u. U do not have to agree with me. But, you either do not know about debate or you are debating out of depth, and you thus want to insult others. Anyway, that reality is your perception.
=========================================================================
Many here do not understand this simple principle: The purpose of the debate is to find a plausible solution to the phenomenon through constructive dialogue. It's also ok to disagree as long as you have facts to support your view; but it is even better when your reason for disagreement is an eventual agreement; because then; you would have changed my mind concerning that particular issue. At this level no insults or condescending tendencies are NOT allowed!!!

Malema was not entirely wrong on some of the issues he raised. what i think was wrong is the platform and the stage he used to say some of those issues. Mamphele is on the dawn of nationalising the mines, but because she knows how to say it, no one has picked it up even today. Juju used to be sturbon and arrogant and he though he could use the same in politics.

It is time to go directly to ANC branches.Report Abuse

We can do that in a dignified manner. The sad part that is counter revolutionary is that the ANC of today has been hijacked by careerist and opportunists something that Mbeki warned about in Polokwane, hence the rot. Malema's downfall was engineered by comrades, its a pity that the truth is not told. Malema allowed himself to be used, hence I always criticise the ANC of today, which is governed by blind loyalty and hero worshiping leaders, hence the stae of affairs.
The media made Malema. He raised pertinent subject that appealed to the masses, when it suited him. At sometime he thought that he was untouchable, which led to his downfall. I have been from a distance looking at the ANCY from the days of Peter Mokaba, but I will tell you that in my books, Malema was the worst leader. A leader does not shoot from the hip.

No one has been able to answer, thus far.

You don't have to be pro nationalisation to know that the owner of the land can do many things with his land. He can sell it for profit. He can get an investor to develop the land and they would thereafter share the profits. He can get a loan and then develop the land himself and utilise it for profit.

We have bl@ck people that succeeded in building empires during apartheid and we do not consult them or put them in positions where their expertise can benefit our youth.

With us, we will get there also, but we need authentic leadership, but more especially, well-informed citizens who will elect wisely.

Let's see how they convince the youth.Report Abuse

We have bl@ck people that succeeded in building empires during apartheid and we do not consult them or put them in positions where their expertise can benefit our youth.
...............................
With us, we will get there also, but we need authentic leadership, but more especially, well-informed citizens who will elect wisely.

We have political freedom which is useless if we do not have the economic freedom. We are still not investing more resources on Smmes, which can create more employment opportunities,

"Yes, 100%. Problem is; which is the alternative party?" You know if you look at Greece, they've punished the main parties and voted small political parties, now the big parties find themselves without power or influence,
I will be voting for a party which least likely to take my vote and abuse it against me, the anc has been abusing its voters, if one has to see how the masses live compare to how the leaders and their associates live, its true the gap btwn the poor blacks and the rich black elite has widened even more in the past 4yrs especially, and the anc regime are arrogantly thinking this is normal.

For zuma to seek second term, in spite that he has fail, is arrogance, for the anc to support this, is even more out of the touch with reality of the mess this guy has put us all in, hence I say we shld consider voting smaller parties, we will be empowering them, perhaps if they have more seats they can make votes of the ordinary ppl felt in parly, the anc should be voted out of power so it can use the time to reflect on how they've wronged us.Report Abuse

We have the necessary minerals to have a blossoming GDP. However, lack of machinery to actually convert them from raw products to consumable goods has left us dependant on foreign currency to do the job for us...AT A LARGE AND DETRIMENTAL COST.

@Manarchy I disagree with your last part, cause if you look at the USA presidential elections, there was a black guy frm the republicans there who was accused of indiscretions, as soon as those came to surface the Reps didnt' hesitate asking him to stand down cause they didn't want his personal life to tarnish Rep chances, if Obama was to put his foot on the wrong he'd be out, believe Democrats have many candidates waiting to fill that post, here in SA we have a drought of leadership that is why we are settling or as you put it waiting for Jesus to come..lolReport Abuse

Sometimes we need to learn from the minority how it acquired its wealth. Let us stop unnecessary debate like they stole our land. For starters, we need to start saving, not live on credit cards or robbing Peter to pay Paul. Warren Buffet, in one of his principles says do not use money that you do not have.
Maybe, you will answer me on this one. I am battling to comprehend why, especially SABC and Etv, which is watched by millions of bl@ck people, always tell people to invest in a funeral policy and does not encourage people to invest in shares on the JSE?

Comrade, you are out of order. lol.
I know I am putting my head on the block. I believe that I honour my relatives when the are still alive. So whether they are buried or cremated is not an issue with you. I have some relatives advocating that and we have obliged. My concern is that the burials are becoming expensive by day and owing to unemployment and recession, cremation will be the solution.
I agree with Buc4life.

its about looking at the facts and the history everywhere it has been implimented...the reason our minority brothers got the better of us back then and even now they are way ahead of the game.... even in football terms....we must look for best practices in the world...and be clever..... this forum will be soo great once it has all messed up. and all the farms are owned by a Zuma...

Jacob Zuma, Gwede Mantashe and their acolytes should not deceive themselves by thinking that this matter is over. Their acolytes like Buti Manamela who normally show their political immaturing by celebrating and gloating after such decisions should know that this is a pyrrhic victory, empty!!! Very soon they will be saying, "people outside the ANC should not be involved in deciding ANC leadership" when out of their cowardice they kicked out legitimate ANC members and leaders.
