Students kicked out of Islamic campus dorms - report
'Not allowed to carry Bibles'
More than 70 students were kicked out of dormitories in a South Coast college for refusing to follow Islamic customs and rules.
Management at the Coastal As-Salaam campus, in Braemar near Umzinto, allegedly forced students in the dormitories to study the Qur'an and wear Muslim clothes.
They were reportedly not allowed to carry Bibles inside the premises.
The students at the further education training college went on strike two weeks ago and lectures were suspended until Tuesday.
Those living in dormitories were told to find accommodation outside the institution.
The students, who are funded by the Higher Education Department's national student financial aid scheme, told The Mercury they could not afford to pay for accommodation and meals as they came from poor families.
The head of the Coastal Central further education and training college, Patche Tigere, said he could not comment, but was working to resolve the matter.
Higher Education spokesman Vuyelwa Qinga said the department was in talks with college management and education officials in the province.

It is a Muslim facility.
When you enrolled you were obviously told about the rules and regualtions of the school
Example: If a parent sends their kids to a Catholic school, she/he cannot expect them to be taught Judaism......

Yes and also gay. Religion does not make one a better person, it is something a person can do without religion. I have found in my experience that non religious people are the ones with intergrity.

@Abdulla-Saleeh was Malcolm gay? that is part aspect of his life I have not read about, its the first, not that there is anything wrong with being gay.the point I was making was that, a vulnerable person as he was due to social pressures at the time, was saved by faith to become a productive citizen and an inspiration to many wrt his fights for social justice, also I read that Mohamed Ali was sustained by his faith (Islam) through issues faced by black Americans at the time in the USA, so if this Islam can produce such ppl, then I wld recommend it.
Also when living in the UK I shared a flat with 2 Muslim ppl, I was awed by their healthy lifestyle and being informed on many different topics, that experience has made me to be more open minded by the Allah guys,
