Another heavy blow for ANCYL

May 31, 2012 | Olebogeng Molatlhwa Political Reporter | 51 comments

ALREADY teetering on the brink, the ANC Youth League has been weakened even further following a decision by the ANC in Mpumalanga to disband its provincial executive.

The ANC's provincial executive committee took a decision over the weekend to effectively dissolve what was left of the youth league's executive structure in Mpumalanga.

ANC provincial secretary Lucky Ndinisa yesterday confirmed the decision to disband the youth league's PEC.

He said it had come to the attention of provincial leaders that the current youth league leadership was not compatible with the provisions of its constitution.

"According to the constitution of the ANC, the PEC is expected to play an oversight role with all its respective leagues," said Ndinisa.

"In terms of the youth league's constitution, in the event that 50% of provincial executive members resign there must be an immediate special congress (to elect new leadership)."

However, that would not favour the remaining PEC members or the national leadership, who are still loyal to expelled youth league president Julius Malema.

Malema was expelled earlier this year following numerous attempts to avert punishment.

In November last year, 11 Mpumalanga youth league PEC members resigned in protest against the sacking of former provincial secretary Johan Mkhatshwa.

He was accused of disobeying instructions not to back Premier David Mabuza. - molatlhwao@sowetan.co.za

ZUMAMUSTGO

Shower head and his mafias are out in full force, Mpumalanga gang boss(Mabuza) is ensuring that nothing will stand in their way to Mangaung.

My plea to sober minded South Africans is that let's show ANC the middle finger in the next general election we can't be undermined in this manner, basically we are watching corrupt ANC leaders doing as they please in this country and it must come to an end.

ZUMAMUSTGO
G morning.
Unfortunately, the ANC is not likely to be shown the middle finger any time soon. The majority of our ppl cannot think for themselves, and this for me is very scary, as we will continue to have a corrupt government which cares less about the needs of its citizens.

Hallo guys. I'm back. The bonafide DA member is back
anc are dead animals. Is only ashes which are left in the anc. The Mangaung battle has destructed the anc. I think is the high time for the people of South Africa to recognise DA. DA is the only party for the people. Viva DA viva
