Court clears Uyanda Mbuli
RED carpet queen and businesswoman Uyanda Mbuli has been acquitted of all criminal charges laid against her by her estranged hubby, Sisa Mbuli.
Uyanda, pictured, was arrested early this month after she violated a court order restraining her from having any contact with Sisa.
She was picked up at her estranged husband's house in Kyalami, Midrand handcuffed, thrown into a police van and spent a night behind bars.
Yesterday Uyanda returned to the Midrand Magistrate's Court following her bail release.
The state found no evidence of any criminal action on her part.
The magistrate said Uyanda had every right to be in her matrimonial property since it was co-owned by both parties.
Witnesses had also been present when the alleged incident occurred. The state had questioned them and satisfied itself that there had been no wrongdoing on Uyanda's part.
Uyanda declined to comment yesterday. She referred queries to her spokesman, Simphiwe Majola.
Majola said: "We are hurt that lies were reported that she was found naked when she was merely taking a shower at her home during the arrest."
Sisa could not be reached for comment. His phone was on "busy" mode yesterday, but when Sowetan spoke to him at Sanaa Africa 2012 fashion show last Thursday, he had said he did not want anything to do with Uyanda.
