NUM warns Numsa to back off on SACP

THE National Union of Mineworkers and the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa seem to be on a collision course over SA Communist Party leaders who also hold government positions.

Comrades, we have a common goal, that is to protect the well being of workers and not political bickering, so ours is Labour related issues, leave the country President and his cabinet to rule the country, we are workers first, then polititions second, so stop fingering each other.

This is so unfortunate,Frans Baleni was to be cosy with ANC & SACP leaders so that they remember him at the expense of the people who will suffer because of e-toll.
Is it populism if COSATU march against e-tolling & oppose "Secret" Bill? Is that being ant-government or is to stand for what is right?

Baleni is so desparate to hold on to his position, with a hope that he will spearhead the campaign of removing Vavi in September. Unfortunately, he will lose come sunday when result are announced.

It is very sad to see Comrades fighting over populism and financial gain. We appeal to Comrades to employ their energy on specific mandates and rationality behind their Unions. Unions have now lost their validity and relevance as they are slowly turning into Political Battleground for the sake of Politics of Stomach. This is very stupid of our Unions, please stick to your Employee Mandates rather than dancing to Government tunes for the sake of filling your Pockets. I will always love a Unionist like Comrade Vavi, the brother turned Zuma down several times before he gave him the IDC post. Let us remind Comrades that the Money that you are fighting over and the positions are not yours they are for the people of South Africa and the Tax payers, please hold your horses you are now looking like school kids fighting over sweets!

Looking at the membership and stability of the SAPC leads me to have the opinion that ol' Blade and Jeremy both won't receive any pension whatsoever when they retire.
It's wise tactics, therefore, to hold down a guv'mint job to ensure a guv'mint pension 'cos the SACP cannot afford to support it's own retirees - one of the stumbling blocks of communism.

There be a word for this principle starting with a "p" but it jus' won't come off the tip of my tongue

Ol' Blade has been publicly taken to task so often by myself and others for wild theories and lousy management that I rather suspect said SACP ain't to keen to fund anymore of his inept efforts and have - as all global communist parties do - passed the burden onto the taxpayer.

And thus I wake up in a sweat at night worrying we ain't gettin value for money from this arrangement...
