The desperate struggle to survive is an everyday reality for the over 300 children living at the Randfontein rubbish dump in Gauteng. Located west of Johannesburg, the landfill site is home to close to 4,000 people who eke out a living from the landfill site. Report by Daniel Born, Graeme Hosken and Lebo Tsele

my word i have never been to this place and i stay in Randfontein, this is just heartbreaking to see people and childrend living in this kind of environment, these are the people whom our government failed. im so emotinal right now knowing that i can only feel sorry for them but i will keep them in my prayers. the kids looks so happy and cute, they know nothing about poverty.i wish there was something i can do, something i can help with but i need to have money to help nothing else can change their situation only money for everything, but i will go there and donate old clothes and old furnitures thats on my garageReport Abuse
