You are right on you views. Cope was formed for the wrong reason hence everything that is associated with it is disgluntlement. For starters, with its start, do you firmly believe that Cope was right to say it wants to defend the Freedom Charter? It attracted people like Mr Smuts Ngonyama, who was on record saying that he was not in the struggle to be poor.
I am not ANC, I do not alligm myself with any party. Cope will go the route of the UDM, IFP and all the parties that are now in political oblivion or wilderness, because they are individual centred parties and if the party as a collective takes a decision, it is sometimes vetoed because "its my party and I am the founder"
In short, SA politics do not need any ANC lite or IFP lite. It needs a new party, that the masses, including you and me will start, that has no political baggage, no crosstitutes like the Ziba Jiyanes of this world. No claim that it fought the struggle for us.

the ANC was a great political liberation movement, guess that was it! now we need something than being liberated political! dont u think, the leadership lacks innovation, and that can not take the country forward, look at the YL, tell me if they are better than Zuma, he was abroad for most of his youth, never got formal education, but if we put malema and him, who is better? they are just the same u right!
unless something hapens in Mangaung, like what happend on the 11 February 1990, if we go to Mangaung and Zuma is still president of the movement, then a new party should be formed! ANC would have lost its relevance to the needs of SAns! Report Abuse

@Tusedi, just as a gentle reminder to you that no political party no matter how popular they may be today will rule forever. Ask Saddam Hussein, Hosni Mubarak and even NNP, in their time they were confident that they were immovable. History has a tendency of repeating itself..Report Abuse

@Makhosini0408I completely support your view that we need a new political party that is not tainted with the struggle or apartheid history. This is the best idea I've seen since joining here. SA needs a fresh start where merit will be key and where people will be voted in based on performance and morals. We are currently caught up in a vicious political cycle. No angel from haven will come down to free us. Freedom is in our heads and hands. Let us break the cycle of doom.

@Mbelewolwazi, this might not be the solution we are seeking. If only we were going into politics to serve without being influenced by the desire to attain to power and getting rich quickly. COPE must reinvent itself and re-launch with the same hype that was displayed when it first formed. I don't think all is lost and not everyone is supportive of the anc given their abuse of power and arrogance.Report Abuse

Tusedithe ANC was a great political liberation movement, guess that was it! now we need something than being liberated political! dont u think, the leadership lacks innovation, and that can not take the country forward, look at the YL, tell me if they are better than Zuma, he was abroad for most of his youth, never got formal education, but if we put malema and him, who is better? they are just the same u right!
unless something hapens in Mangaung, like what happend on the 11 February 1990, if we go to Mangaung and Zuma is still president of the movement, then a new party should be formed! ANC would have lost its relevance to the needs of SAns!

@MbelewolwaziThanks. My view is that the ANC has become too confident, arrogant, corrupt and incompetent. If we do not want to go the route of Zimbabwe, we need to make that call.

Surely Mbazima cannot cope with anything in his life , it is apparent that being a premier was a cadre-deployment that did not come with qualification .Report Abuse

@Rockwell,how hypocritical to that the mbazimas and lekotas who were strategically chucked out of the anc will do better, you cannot reinvent the struggle. sadly all is lost for cope

@SwonaU are sufferring from congress fever, hani's daughter mentioned people like you who want things thair way (against) majority vote by threathing to start new parties. For your info Zuma was veeery instrumental in all the talks that took place before codesa to usher in the new democracy.
@sinudeity
How can you say they are doing better when they have nothing to do besides bickering, moaning, bugging Vavi, Fifhting in courts to remove each from their parties, arguing with malema. Can some one tell what policies the DA, or Ff or UDM have that will make this a better country,

@Rockwell. Cope is founded on grudges and hatred and have had a rocky start which is indicative of how much negatively affected they are. I'm talking about a party started by people who will not be clouded by the struggle solidarity mentality. I'm talking about a party whose ideology will be based on predetermined programmes aimed at establishing a firm fresh start to reengineer the society in order to create individuals of integrity who will form stronger families which will be a cornerstone for establishing communities with good and strong moral values.Report Abuse
Rockwell
@Tusedi, it is for this reason that we will be having an elective conference later this year so that the new leadership that will take the party forward can be elected and be given new mandates of builidng a strong and formidable party that will be well positioned to challenge the next general elections. Shilowa should not have been brought into leadership in the first place as he always had his hidden agendas and may have been a mole from the anc to destabilize the movement.Report Abuse

Tusedi - Those things are still better than what we are finding in the anc. Incompetence, corruption, nepotism...You know why the government doesnt want et0lls to be cancelled? Because anc top dawgs are heavily inv3sted in it. And they took worker p3nsion money, and inv3sted it in the sch3me. Your anc dudes, are using the salaries of their workers, to fund money making sch3mes of the top dawgs, by making the average South African pay tolls.
I'll take b1ckering over getting r1pped off anyday.

@Mbelewolwazi, I hear what you're saying but what are the chances of such a party really making it. I still maintain that we don't need an introduction of any new political formation but the renewal of the existing ones and injecting life in them that can inspire the electorate and make democracy to be a reality. Those are my closing comments..Report Abuse

I cant believe the ignorance of some people like sinuideity who go on a rampage to critice the anc at all costs with wrong and unfound statemnt like the one above!!!!! its no longer bickering its dafamation at its best. blind jeolousy.
@Rockwell
