Are we still pretending that the leadership debate is not on?
Reminds me of the old story about Henry Ford. You cant debate leadership unless you support Zuma

guess its now september in KZN, or the ANC does not have discipline! guess some of us needs to come up and nominate our prefared candidates, since even the the secritary general is not saying anything because JZ is being endorsed, but if they were saying they dont endorse him he was going to stand firm against it! rather we put four names and start lobbying, Mathew Phosa, Tokyo Sekgwale, Montlhante and Cyril Ramaphosa!

Why can't we have a debate for leadership candidates, instead of having people blindly vote for people who are determine to see this country going backward? something that Mandela/de Klerk, Mbeki/van Schalkwyk kinda(if i'm not mistaken) debate. It's about time we stop embracing mediocrity from the likes of Zuma.

Because eThekwini started the succession debate, the chances are, the ANC will say the succession debate date has been changed from September to today.

If no discipline is taken against this branch then it would mean that this branch is either controlling the ANC or the ANC is too scared of this branch.

I suppose we should fold our arms and pretend that this is not happening. That there is discipline in the ANC and Gwede Mantashe is fair and running the ANC properly. We are supposed to pretend that we are all for Jacob Zuma serving a second term. We can also assume that the over million or so of ANC members definitely think that Jacob Zuma is doing a sterling job and has created millions of jobs, just that ordinary people cannot see them. We also have to pretend that Jacob Zuma is one of the greatest ANC leaders and has provided great vision and has rallied and united the country and the ANC. Let us all pretend that we did not hear Kwazulu_natal saying that they want Jacob Zuma to serve a second term. And in the meantime Jacob Zuma and Gwede Mantashe are playing dead.

A very good suggestion by eThekwini. I fully support their idea. But let us wait for the official Opening of nominations in October. South Africa can be saved from personal greed and self interest if Comrade Zuma can win in Mangaung. We do not want the Malema brigade to do to South Africa what they have done in Limpopo, imagine what will happen if South Africa can be bankrupt like Limpopo. Viva the Commander in Chief Viva.

Why all of a sudden Thekwini branch has a huge membership, was this the case during Mbeki and Madiba's time? Hell no, but because the shower head is about to be chopped, we are told of huge membership in his home province. Amazulu are still living in the past and they believe in themselves rather capable leadership. If Cde Motlanthe wins in Mangaung late this year, I bet the ANC will not win the KZN province come 2014 general elections.

Thou art thy Hypocrite ANC... if it was Malema we would hear the mother body already denouncing this stance citing dicipline. Lest we forget history has a way of repeating itself, about three decades ago an occurance like this encrouched in Zimbabwe when Robert Mugabe unleashed a reign of terror against anything and everything seen to block his way to your royal majesty! The results of which is that chapter we do not want to open... Gukurahundi.

Is tribal affiliation a safe bet for political survival? Remember Gukurahundi...

@IPhone4,
You will be sho'cked to find out what you have stated is actually true. Most of the bloggers happen not to know this country very well. It's true, they think KZN and Durban is the same thing. To them, the moment you mention KZN, then you are from Durban. Others think Johannesburg is the whole of GP. Talking about shocking levels of ign'orance. They are like most Americans who think Africa is a country and not a continent with at least 55 countries.
It is the duty of the enlightened few to teach these mo'egoes.

The ANC should first expel the whole ANCYL NEC before even switching their focus to Ethekwini. They ANCYL NEC have made it clear about their choice for Mbalula and Motlanthe. They have even composed songs which they sing in their official meetings about the two leaders.

Fellow South Africans the reality of the matter is that our Society is damaged goods. We are caught up in a vicious cycle of doom. No matter who is in charge of the country as we currently are things will keep on worsening unless we find a way to break this cycle of doom. The calibre of all leaders is not what we deserve. We need social reengineering as a new struggle to free ourselves. We currently have the chicken mentality. Do you know that if chicken is untied after being tied up for sometime it remains there not realizing that it is free. It does not realize that it is now up to it to free itself by taking steps to a particular direction. May be what I am saying goes over some of your heads without comprehension. Ask questions you shall be uplifted. We have many intelligent people in SA but they have been bitten by the bug of self enrichment. Until we reengineer ourselves and break the cycle of doom there is no hope for a good future seeing the abhoaring behavior of the so called future leaders.

Yeah, I definitely agree, that will hasten Jacob Zuma;s demise and make our job easier. Tell your folks at Luthuli House to go for it, expell the whole NEC and appoint a task team to run Youth League affairs. In fact they can go ahead and appoint Pule Mabe, Mdududizi Manana, Mthandeni Dlungwane to the task team. All ANC Youth League members will just roll over with a wimper and play dead!

KZN can pronounce anything about a topic which is banned by Zuma and his cronies, all that does not amount to "ill-descipline". Zuma must be crazy indeed if he think he can just use comdrades just like that. The League must continue to defy and reject him. There is no future with Zuma. There is less he can do to turn around socio-economic situation. He is not respected by anyone international, he is increasingly becoming a liability. He must go & concentrate on marrying as he is so crazy about purunyaka
