"the people that are employed by government to do work are least prepared and equipped to do it"

example, Zuma, he thinks he is a monarch! all he's done well since taking over is to marry!

Another intellect has spoken about Zuma's reign. Let's see Jimmy manyi, Gwede "Khaphela" Mantashe, Nathi Mthethwa and Malusi Gigaba - Zuma's yes boys - attack the auditor general like they did to Reuel Khoza.

It's a fact that Zuma's government is corrupt, power-hungry and self enriching. And that's not what we voted for.

its sad when stories like this do not bother us any more. in other countries that have leaders who adhere to accountability and transparency any scandal exposed and you find that official resigning out of embarrasment. not here in Mzansi. it appears the dirtier you are the more you are rewarded by these thieves. if we give this fool and his band of thieves and thugs another 4 years, then we are fcuked.

Only if my people can learn from what the French did and follow suite. Building up to the election I never thought that that Hollande fellow stood a chance. I always thought uncle Nick will win. Anyho, I don't see us casting a vote against the obvious, our politics is so predictable and has nothing to do with policies, in fact, I see no point in our election because most people that need an efficient governance choose the wrong government, nor wonder the ANC can and will do as they wish.

We can't tolerate bad governance because we don't know where we'll get the next paycheque.
In fact the std's were compromised the day we accepted the current leadership. Some of said by the end of the current term the country will have moved backwards. These mistakes or jokes are very costly. We can't plant rotten potatoes and expect to get nice onions or tomatoes.

But what to do? If we could just do the same with the government as we did with e-tolling, SA would have a chance.

The ANC is arrogant and not worried exactly because of this. We need a strong opposition, not necessarily a party to take over, but a party that the ANC is accountable to because they are scared of LOSING an election.

Some predictions:

The reason for the tolerance of corruption is that the ANC need money for the next election campaign. Being a bunch of thieving kleptocrats with no concept of the difference between party and state, it must come from the public purse.

The family that realises that after 18 years of ANC misrule thay still have no house, no running water, no electricity, no indoor toilet isn't going to vote ANC unless just before the election they are treated by the ANC to a big party with free food, drink and music. Like the Roman emperors the ANC bribe the masses with bread and circuses. That's why they need loadsamoney.

E-Tolls would have given the ANC loadsacash. It must now come from somewhere else.

@ Cheeseboy ( long time no argue )

Yes, that is the saddest thing. I cannot think what else these guys have to do to before the long suffering masses finally get fed up and vote them out. Actually, this current ANC ( sorry Shredder) has destroyed the SA State. The SA State has become non existent. In a proper state, people pay taxes in return for the provision of basis services, administration of the affairs that need administering, maintenance of law and order, and protection against possible enemies. Our army is almost non exxistent, police are in a shambles, with corruption at the from the highest to the lowest levels, seeking protection from ADT in some cases, and the administration is in a complete shambles.

ANC voters, please give us decent leaders or vote for another party.

--------------------------

They ALREADY do!!
Projects are going ahead left right and centre with NO thought about the funding needed. When things go wrong/over budget/fall apart it's the taxpayer who bears the brunt again and again.
Useful little cash cows that we are.

We'd better start listening while there's still time to do damage control and vote this bunch out.
They even waste our money on state funerals honouring the crook who stole from us!!

The problem with government is that 'people with skills and qualifications are sidelined for not taking bad instructions, hence they are forced to resign'. People appointed on executive positions are more interested in persuing their personal ambitions other than that of the organisation.

Thanks AG for raising the matter.....another South African who is concerned about his country.
The more people talk about this things, the more the chances of something being done about it.

People in Government and elsewhere, must start realizing that when ordinary South Africans from all walks of life, raise this things, only a fool will take offence because this are not an attack on the guilty party's person or their organization. The public is merely providing a mirror for the wise to see and act accordingly or for the ignorant to break the mirror and cut themselves in the process.

@ zaco'z. The public protector is independent, so is the Auditor General. The gov depts he audits are clients. He is to advice them on the state of affair resulting in disclamer or qualified audit opinions. I think that he might be attacked does not give him sleepless nights. He is a CA(SA) with unlimited opportunities of finding employment anywhere in the world. That would reflect bad on SA in terms of corruption measures.
