YOUNG Communist League national secretary Buti Manamela has warned workers to guard against "Superman and Batman" politicians whose interests are positions of power
Interesting statements from this Communist I wonder what is he ploting!!!! Since Malema's demise I notice that this communist is running his mouth big time, its interesting to refer to caders as Superman and Batman also attacking the ANC caders I hope he is not filling hypocracy forms here.... I am also wondering the same, because he makes a lot of unfounded statemets such as the e-tolling should be blame on shilowa!!! The Gautrain does not go near townships such as Soweto, Orange Farms, Mamelodi or Soshanguve!!! These are extremely hipocritical statements when you consider that the YCL was not in exile when the Gautrain and the e-tolling was being planned and implemented; Shilowa was not a law unto himself and did not deploy himself as premier (he was the representative of the ANC).
Mashatile who has championed the Gautrain is now a minister in the ANC (meaning promoted from MEC to minister). The milk is already spilled, ith therefore stands to reason that Manamela is just playing politics and hoping to appeal to the emotions of those who are intellectually and emotionally vulnerable!!! Molo Bhuti. Please name the sellouts and open criminal cases. Let us make sure that sellouts are not elected in Mangaung. Please let there be consequences if one does not work towards the advancement of better life for all.
I appeal to comrades that we must not let the status quo remain. I am of the view that if nothing is done and the poor continue to believe that better life is for few, there is a chance of demonstrations that were done in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, etc.
I also believe that poor people will not vote ANC in the next election. Report Abuse

This Manamela boy must shut up. What does he know about workers, who is he to warn workers? Does he know that some of COSATU members are Directors and extremly qualified professionals? Does he think he speaks to his kids or dogs.
Who are these Superman and Bartman politicians he refers to? Is it Zuma, Ndzimande, Nathi Mthethwa, Mantashe or Mdluli?
"Manamela said Gautrain costs Gauteng about R300-million a year but does not go near any major townships such as Soweto, Orange Farm, Mamelodi or Soshanguve."

Buti Manamela raise crucial issue that maim society and ANC in particular. It's looting of state resources. Wrong placements of the so called comrades. These people are well known to people like Buti, but he is unable to raise the same issues in the meeting of the NEC of the ANC where he serves as a member. I wish he also tel us what progress is done in the YCL than what he always sees in the ANCYL. He cannot speak anything else without blaming other people. we wish you developmentally address issues pertinent to youth both in the YCL and society in general and we be told of progresses that what you are doing currently.
It's amazing that he only sees it now that boShilowa benefited from e-tolling and labour brokering is unfounded. What is he saying about the current crop of pseudo-comrade who are looting with and with watching? Report Abuse

@All
Buti is talking nonsense, what has he done for the youth since the day he was appointed (not elected) as YCL SG in late 2003? He has been in this position for almost 9 years but he has nothing to show for it.
Let me tell U people, Buti was SASCO deputy-president in 2001, a student organisation, without being a registered student. Comrades tolerated this and because he was stupid, he still did not register and come 2002 when he wanted to be president he was found not (still) to be a registered student and his presidency dream faded. He claimed to have been a student at VISTA Mamelodi but there were no records of his enrolment at the institution. Traces of his studentship were found at an FET College in PTA West, where he dropped -out without completing.
Buti was one of those student leaders that occupied SRC positions permanently, sometimes occupying the positions without being students.

I am always amazed by pseudo-comrades who speak good English but cannot think. Buti Manamela seems to have found his voice since Julius Malema was expelled. Somebody should tell But that "Juju is coming back to get u!".
Manamela cannot think and he is just like his leader Jeremy Cronin. Jeremy Cronin is Deputy Minister of Transport but cannot explain the basics about Gautrain and e-tolling. Manamela and Cronin have probably not noticed the traffic congestion in the morning and afternoon in big cities like Johannesburg and Cape Town. One wonders what Cape Town and Johannesburg will be like in 50 years' time with the likes of Cronin and Manamela still fast asleep. They probably cannot think that far. Most vehicles on the road have the driver and in some cases one passenger, and come out of suburbia. Gautrain and e-tolling are obviously not silver bullets but they are small steps on the way to building an efficient public transport system. Cronin should be thinking about introducing buses in areas that are affected by e-tolling. Cronin should be making sure that those affected by e-tolling have access to alternative modes of transport. Metrorail also has a role to play but the overall situation requires an integrated solution, which cannot be arrived at through Manamela's reductionist thinking. Report Abuse
