GIMME MY PHONE BACK! A 19-year-old Matriculant of Imbali outside Pietermaritzburg has been arrested for hitting his teacher with a desk plank

The Witness newspaper reported that the pupil had assaulted his teacher after an argument over a cellphone.

His cellphone had been confiscated on Monday and he was demanding it back when he got angry and attacked the teacher.

The school did not allow cellphones on its premises, the publication said.

Police spokeswoman Lieutenant Joey Jeevan said the boy was in custody and was due to appear in court soon.

@Sowetan.. Which grade is this 19 year old attending, what is he still doing at high school???

Teachers have no rights anymore over untouchable ''government kids''. Why take teaching as a profession these days.

aha, another brilliant result of removing corporal punishment by our idiotic govt. If this 19 year old high school student, WTF, did that to my relative, this lame article would be descibing how the relative of the teacher (me) beat the sh!t out of the lil madafaka

Too much rights to the kids......... they forget that rights also come with responsibilities

I dont care what the Children's Act says one thing I know is my little one when she grows older and gets out of hand........ I will surely smack the day lights out of her.......
