Funeral parlour owner arrested for murder

Argument about a gearbox ends with mechanic's death

A funeral parlour owner has been arrested in Butterworth for murder, Eastern Cape police said on Thursday.

The 54-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday shortly after he shot dead a mechanic, Captain Jackson Manatha said.

The two had apparently been fighting over the ownership of a gearbox when the parlour owner withdrew a firearm and shot the 35-year-old mechanic twice in his upper body.
